Yeah, at first I considered a full support across , but ultimately decided on the side supports…. a bit extra load support, but also friction fits to the wheel wells so the cross support stays in place better.

I cut some boards for the pickup box. I’m going to get them sprayed by the guys that did the box liner. Made sure I had the measurements correct to match up to the tailgate!
