I've been following Dan's expeditions since he started building his diesel JKU for Africa (before he blew up the engine) but haven't jumped on the Patreon bandwagon. He did the first "patreon commercial" that really got me going so I signed up to see how this build goes. I look forward to seeing...
The price in the spreadsheet is accurate to the most current order guide from Mopar. If you are ordering a Gladiator then their pricing sheet will show the invoice price. Beyond that, a sales person is going to say whatever it takes to sell their truck. The best advice is to go into the dealer...
I have a set of 4 wheels of my Sport S, but want to go with a full set of steel wheels. I'd like to trade my aluminum rim for your spare tire rim. You keep your tire and tpms, i'll do the same.
There aren't
The interior length of each camper is different. The GFC "sleeping footprint" is 50" x 90" and has panels to put down as a sleeping surface. You could leave one panel out to have standing room but it'd shorten the over all sleeping length to ~65" (one panel is about 25" x 50" and...
This is really not a useful statement. Opinions and user specific desires/needs will make one "better" than the other, but a judgement of "inferior" isn't empirically true for all users. The v2 only has a handful in the wild, so its really way too early to start saying it's no good.
I have no...
I ended up getting the willys style grille last fall, it was much cheaper than all of the parts needed to do the individual grill like the Rubicon/Mojave and really, once you're inside the truck, you don't see it all the time so it's not so annoying. =oP
9% is insane. The sheet says that's $42,532 (or thereabouts) before tax... its a few less options than mine was (non-diesel) but only $1500 more for a diesel engine. Congratz!
Looking at that quote sheet, I'm not sure I'm seeing a final number. That is just the breakdown of MSRP and of Invoice. The $500 for a headliner is just the invoice price for their headliner as well.
Using the spreadsheet (which I just updated to the March prices.) I show the Invoice price for...
I'm in the same boat, i have a full 600 sq ft wood shop, a welder and basically everything I'd need to make that GFC top. The most intimidating part is sewing the fabric for the tent. I was about to start it when I realized I should get a summer of camping under my belt, its been too long since...
This. Though I have a wife, 2 kids, 2 dogs, a dozen chickens and a mortgage... I don't anticipate ever making it to "full timer" and will either be me and my son for a few days, or me and my wife for longer... which comes back to the trailer thing again. (c: All that being said... you seem...
I would love to step in and snag one of you guy's GFC builds... but man, for the money (and my wife's lack of interest climbing a ladder to sleep) I keep getting pulled back to a trailer. Bummer that both of you will be unable to get the topper, they're so nice. (and huckable.)
The marketing hyperbole has led folks to believe they need a Rubicon for capability, while the reality is that the base sport has almost as much capability out of the box already. Few are the people that will ever need the low gear ratio, lockers or swaybar disconnect.
"Better" is the operative word here, as there is a different "better" for everyone that buys a gladiator. I like the Rubicon but couldn't justify the cost difference to get the lower gear transfer case (i didn't want it anyway), the lockers, and a handful of other features. They're great for...
What're your thoughts on the quality and durability of the bumper as you're installing it? I've heard several people say there were some tolerance issues and it felt flimsy in some parts. I keep balking at picking this one up, though I do like the look.
