Now that they can be unlocked and tuned thinking about picking up a spare and sending it out to HPtuners to have them unlock and program to my vin#.
Looking for a new one I find 68568654AB and it in only $130 or so. Is this the right part# as it seems very cheap?
Will be following, I would really like the V8 but still struggling with 30k+. If I could install either the Ripp or the Maggy for say 8k then drop it off at Liverious up the road for a tune. Might be the way to go.
Looking forward to seeing your install.
Purchased it with my cash bonus after completing airborne school in 1986. It was stock then in the picture we had upgraded it in the barrack parking lot and it was fitted with very large for the times 33's I think.
Mine only has 8k on it now, but I am told they give more in trade for very low mileage engines.
I hear what you are saying though, mine is setup perfect with 60's and all the supporting mods. Mine is a V8 away from being perfect.
Loved my MTBB AT's. They were great in the snow, did not notice anything from the added weight. You will not take a hit on mileage because of the slight weight increase, winter gas might do that for you.
Dug into it last night and the arm length has nothing to do with it. Seems like the motor in the disconnect is not allowing it to re-engage. Will have to dig more into this weekend to see why and what needs to be done to fix it.
Hit up WindRock this weekend for our for real trip with the Gladiator. It is a beast pretty much was able to walk up everything in front of it, was pretty dry so nothing we hit was terribly hard.
Wife like this much better than our 2D JL we had before, feels much more stable climbing and...
Did a bunch of wheeling this weekend and for the 2nd time now my swaybar will not reconnect. I drove it around putting it a different angle and rocked the Jepp but nothing. Last time I un bolted the drivers side and got it to reconnect and pulled the motor off but everything inside was greased...
Loaded it on the trailer ready to head down to Windrock in the morning.
Checked all the fluids before and found PSC power steering was almost 1 quart low, maybe this is why my low rpm turning was a little choppy. Never made a noise and drove great at speed, guess we will find out tomorrow.
Yes safe to drive. All the Z locker harness does it turn the light off, it does not actually fix the issue just makes it so you don't see it.
Replace the sensor and pot it.
Or use this an excuse to replace the diff fluid and fix the root of the problem. In my JL I just pulled the sensor drilled it flushed it out with electrical contact cleaner, blew it out and let it completely dry for a couple days, then used potting compound. Never had a problem with it again...
Maybe he did have a set of $$$shock but pulled them before selling. On mine when I bought it came with rocksport reds. Great off road but way too bouncy for me maybe do to it being a very heavy Gladiator. I have since seen pictures where he had a nice set of King's on it, just pulled them...
Not so much worried about it at Windrock, more so on the 600 mile trip there on a trailer. And we are headed to Sand Hollow/Moab next Spring.
I worry more about something happening on the highway vs. the trail.
I have USAA and they have the option to insure for 20% over value if vehicle is totaled. I have this option on all my cars and it does work. Last year my wife totaled her Infiniti, we got the valuation and then they tacked on another 4k for this extra coverage. Worked great and was only like...
