I like most of what Metalcloak does but the rocksport reds are purely an offroad shock, but they are cheap so you are getting what you paid for.
The original owner of mine took Kings off and put these on before selling. So they were pretty much new but they were so loose I could work them by...
Yes side to side sway was an issue but mainly the front to rear sway was bad.
Talked to metalcloak and they pointed the finger at the dual anti rocks rather than the rocksport reds. I think it was a combination of both, but with the current setup it drives better than most lifted Jeeps I have...
I bought it with the anti rock and it was just very loose feeling and too much sway. The rocksports reds might have also contributed to this.
Put the stock Rubi bar back on along with some tuned Fox's and it drives down the road like a stocker.
Getting ready for Windrock next month and Moab in April.
Tested the flex since I switched out the Rocksport reds for Fox's and went back to the OE Rubi swaybar from the anti rock.
Still looks pretty good might could even remove a little bump stop in the front. I did get it another 3"'s...
3.5" is a lot of lift for just 35's and Rough Country, I might save up for something a little better.
But with a 3.5" you will need a HD track bar and either adjustable arms or maybe drop brackets for the front. Don't think you will get enough flex out of the rough country to need the longer...
Incase anyone one else has this issue in the future.
One of the pins on their jumper harness pushed out slightly when mated to the OE plug. Got it seated again and used a very small screw driver to hold it in while I reconnected them. then I zip tied it nice and tight to the wire next to it...
Took the weekend to upgrade the Gladiators audio system.
Using the PAC module running to AudioControl 6 channel amp, Audiocontrol components in the front and coaxial in the rear, still working on sub enclosure. Ran all new speaker wires to all the speakers.
I powered it up and set the chime...
Just larger and more common place in street driven vehicles.
My CJ late 80's on 33's which in Col. were large for the time.
TJ around 2004 on 35's I believe.
JK around 2017 on 37's which were not very common back then.
JL on 37's last year they look very large on a 2 door
JT current...
I bought it this way and the previous owner told me they had never been balanced. I pulled one and broke it open just to see if there might be beads inside, but nothing.
The steering setup is very good and tight, so that helps a lot. Dynatrac axles and PSC really make a Jeep drive nice.
But...
These 40" tires on my Gladiator have never been balanced. 40" trail grapplers on Raceline beadlocks. Thing runs down the road perfect.
Anyone else running large tires without balancing them?
On my JL when the light started flashing intermittently I pulled both the front and rear sensors. Then I drilled both of them, blew out the inside with compressed air and then used electronic contact cleaner. Let them dry for a couple days while I waited for the potting epoxy to come. Potted...
I would like to have the V8 for on road stuff, help moving larger tires and axles. A little extra power for offroad crawling would be nice at times but not the real draw of a V8 for me.
