These 40" tires on my Gladiator have never been balanced. 40" trail grapplers on Raceline beadlocks. Thing runs down the road perfect.

Anyone else running large tires without balancing them?

How did you get someone to install them without balancing them?

Did they at least ā€˜check’ the balance and by some miracle, you didn’t need anything?

Could be a matter of perception, too - huge tires are less likely to run like the stock smaller, lighter tires, so it could be "acceptable" for the tires, where I'd get in and say - "DO OVER!".

I've only ever seen smaller tires from General need either no, or almost no, weight to balance. Wheels and tires come with the heavy spots marked on them.......possible the shop installed going by those marks and were lucky as hell.

Some people don’t balance with beadlocks.

That’s pretty amazing they roll smooth. Whoever installed did a good job matching the heavy/light spots to vice versa.

I bought it this way and the previous owner told me they had never been balanced. I pulled one and broke it open just to see if there might be beads inside, but nothing.

The steering setup is very good and tight, so that helps a lot. Dynatrac axles and PSC really make a Jeep drive nice.

But this thing will cruise at 80 down the freeway perfectly smooth, just as good if not better than my JL with 37's.

That’s impressive…. Iā€˜m sure the ā€˜wheel’ and the ’install’ was done with precision. I hope you asked the previous owner for the name of the person/company who installed them….…That information is good to have in your back pocket.

I remember (back 20 years ago)….. 15x8ā€ steal wheels with 35’s…… were (apparently) impossible to balance. We ended up running Equal……
