I do it because I also am uncomfortable airing down 20s on the trail...

I put 35s on the Mojave. I didn’t test it before, but now the digital speedo reads 1 mph behind actual speed. The analog does read a little ahead of the digital one on mine as well...I’m not sure that’s worth me correcting.

Nothing wrong with keeping it as a second spare, at least I would if you are going to keep two spares...

I would bet it will fit in the narrow spot. I remember there being enough room from when I drove my JK through it. I have also seen a video of an H2 that made it through. The switchbacks at the beginning would be more difficult, but I think you’d be OK...

I think you would be putting the shocks out of their optimum operating parameters in the front, anyway...that is based on knowledge gleaned on this forum... Personally, I won’t be lifting mine without shock extensions. However, I would use spacers to correct droop from adding different bumper...
