  1. Nnnooo!!! Corrosion!

Took the wifes' Wrangler up to the dealer yesterday because she's got the corrosion issue, so it can be dealt with. Lady at the body / paint shop who checked in her car warned me to check my Gladiator as well. Did the "slide your finger along the edge of the hood" feeling for any bumpiness or...
  2. Winter rescues of stranded drivers...

Yeah, the car I mentioned were in a "Michigan left" turn around, so out of the traffic flow and I was able to get far enough over (with hazards on) to be well out of the flow. Because I would've had to turn around to face any traffic coming into the turn-around, I was quite hesitant to use the...
  3. Winter rescues of stranded drivers...

Granted, it's the sort of thing I'd only do IF the person understood there'd be a very good chance of damage to the bumper. I brought this up because the wife and I saw a car stuck in the snow going to a store, and they were still there a good 20-30 minutes later when we were heading home, so...
  4. Winter rescues of stranded drivers...

So last night and today, large swaths of the eastern US are getting a LOT of snow. This is going to be a two-part question, the one most people will reply to is: Have you ever used your Gladiator to help someone stuck in the snow? Whether just to give them a push out of deep snow, or your...
  5. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

You DID air down for that trail, right? ;)🤪
  6. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

Not today, but yesterday, loaded the three pieces of an IKEA couch in the bed, cushions and blankets and such in the back, and hauled it the 30ish miles to one of the nieces to give to them. I could FEEL the difference in the ride, almost felt like I was leaning back a bit in the seat! But...
  7. What's with MetalCloak having a werewolf on the stickers?

I was going to post a semi joking post with a bunch of pictures, but why flood the forums? At least you didn't mean the University of Michigan Wolverines, or the Marvel Comics Wolverine, you meant this cute and cuddly guy: BTW, love how my Gladiator looks with your bumper!
  8. What's with MetalCloak having a werewolf on the stickers?

Ooohhh, I see! Finally bothered to search for the sticker to show the wife, and Metalcloak claims they're a wolverine on the sticker! Although it's not the Wolverines I'm thinking of
  9. What's with MetalCloak having a werewolf on the stickers?

Um... Yes! :CWL: Plus I'm going to PUT one of those Metalcloak stickers (most likely) on my LAPTOP PC! :)
  10. What's with MetalCloak having a werewolf on the stickers?

Seriously, why do they have a werewolf on the stickers you get with their gear? Was the owner bitten by a wolf and now he's trying to normalize lycanthropy? LoL
  11. Painting / coating for Metalcloak Overland Flip Steps...

So please don't ban me for this, but I'm asking for my wife and her Wrangler... She's looking at getting drop steps for her Jeep and one of the things that's piqued her interest in the Metalcloaks is getting them painted a particular color. My question is (and at some point, I want a set of...
  12. Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Michigan, advice, suggestions?

The wife and I will be going camping at Luddington State Park in September (Labor Day weekend and a couple days into the week,) and we're thinking of taking the Jeep down to Silver Lake to go out into the dunes. I'm not worried about getting aired down (Method bead grips and KO3s,) more looking...
  13. Which Tow Mirrors?

I'll second @bd100 's suggestion, we got a set of those last year and they are FAR superior to the other set that use rubber straps to stay on. No vibration of the mirrors from wind so they're actually usable as mirrors, rock solid when you get them on.
  14. So, what is everybody towing?

Over on a forum for the camper brand the wife and I have, someone posted about how a trip was almost ruined when their brake controller bought the farm. Since then, they travel with two. I moved our controller (Tekonsha Prodigy P3) from under the dash to on top of the dash and had to make an...
  15. So, what is everybody towing?

All this talk about how changing tire size can change the towing ability makes me glad I stuck close to my OEM tire size when I bought new wheels and tires. :) Went from the stock 245/75/17s to 265/70/17s. Pretty sure that ~1/10" size difference on the diameter is going to make a BIG...
  16. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I just hope I used enough ugga-duggas putting the bolt back through the sway bar :-) (I didn't use my cheater bar to tighten them back down, just my ratchet wrench.) I've got a torque wrench (Harbor Freight) that goes from 50 to 150 ft/lbs, but I saw something the other day indicating that...
  17. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

This is just me be pre-emptive, especially after seeing the posts here. I'd been doing some looking for things to do to potentially improve our trailer hauling, came across a post here of someone saying they'd seen a post (also here, but I never found it,) saying it helped (but not how.) Then...
  18. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Am I mechanic now? I installed these today: Glad I had a cheater bar to get the one bolt off, and a BIG thank you to @Metalcloak for including bolts of the right size and thread to use instead of the stock bolts. I might go back under in a day or two, put the washers and nuts on the back side...
  19. So, what is everybody towing?

Our rig as of last May, there's been a few minor changes, new wheels / tires on the Jeep, a better bike carrier on the tongue of the camper... 2022 with tow package (wish I'd known about max tow) and a 2022 nuCamp T@B 400 Boondock
  20. Installing rear sway bar reinforcement brackets, wheels on, or off?

I wouldn't expect taking the wheels off to have any impact on the function of the bracket :) Was just wondering if it'd make it a bit easier, but it sounds like any "easier" with the wheels off is counterbalanced by the hassle of removing and re-installing the wheels, so. OK, and I had some...
