  1. Finding a Selec-Trac In Stock?

I found the same things - no easy way to search for one in stock with Selec-Trac, and not very many on lots with Selec-Trac. I ended up ordering mine and Selec-Trac was a $695 option at the time.
  2. What weight gear oil???

I wondered about that as well. I first ran into this 1/8" below the fill hole cr@p on my 94 Dodge Ram. I thought it was strange since everything else that I've ever worked on has been 'fill to the bottom of the fill hole'. On my JK, the manual states "Lubricant should be at the bottom edge of...
  3. How many miles do you change your oil?

There is a person on BITOG who claims to have been a Pentastar design engineer, screen name OIL_UDDER. Lots of good oil-related info here: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/626-000-mile-pentastar-teardown.329423/#post-5474366 If my engine is at full operating temperature, it always...
  4. Jeep Whining when letting off the gas

Are you saying that your dealership knew that the axle had been re-geared, but still offered to replace it under warranty? Never heard of that before.
  5. Death Wobble settlement agreement in class-action case could mean reimbursement for some Jeep owners

Anyone who is a member of the class should be able to opt-out and exclude themselves from the settlement. If you do so, you will retain your right to file suit, but you can't get any of the benefits from the settlement. That mailer states that you are part of the class, it is not asking you...
  6. Add 850w heavy duty cooling fan to 3.6L Gladiator that didn't come with it. ( no Tow Package or Max Tow )

  7. Has anyone installed the ARB diff breather kit on their JT

The front axle vent is in a rally bad spot (IMO), and the vent doesn't have any type of filtration to it. Even though I don't do any real off-roading with my JT, I extended the vent and added a piece of small engine air filter to it.
  8. How are you protecting diffs?

Yeah, you certainly don't need to worry about wearing out the bottom of the diff housing on a "mixed use vehicle", and purpose-built rock crawlers typically use axle housings with a much better design. But, if you look specifically at the JL / JT as the "mixed use vehicle", the diff housing...
  9. How are you protecting diffs?

Yeah, here in New England you can pick a great line, but in the end the line ends up picking you.
  10. How are you protecting diffs?

The AEV diff slider shown in my picture above originally came with holes to allow for changing the oil. I made plugs for the holes and had them welded in. If you wheel a lot, you will gladly trade ease of oil changes for a better functioning slider. R & I of the slider adds 15 minutes to my...
  11. How are you protecting diffs?

A steel skid plate / guard is usually there to protect the relatively weak stamped steel diff cover and not necessarily the diff housing itself. People who rock crawl a lot can significantly wear down the bottom of the cast iron diff housing from repeatedly dragging it over rocks. This could...
  12. Front Differential Service

Information on the required oil for the front & rear differentials can be found in your Owner's Manual. Here's the page from the 2021 Owner's Manual:
  13. ROkBlokz Sizes & Description?.. am I having a stroke?

I can definitely see the potential for snow to build up inside the rear bumper and the back corners of the bed. That's the reason I installed the rears. I can tell you that they do a great job keeping snow out of these areas.
  14. Roof leak in back

Do you have a part number or product number for the "Corning liquid sealing paste"?
  15. Roof leak in back

OOH, that's interesting. Questions: Does the rubber molding go all the way around the glass? Is there a seam in the rubber at the bottom, or does it appear to be a single molded piece of rubber? What part number is on your invoice for the rear glass?
  16. Leather interior 23' Mojave dissimilar leathers?

On my 2021 JTM, the center sections of the rear seats have a very slightly different 'sheen' or 'hue' to them. You can only really notice the difference when it is dark outside and the interior lights are lighting up the inside. In the daylight they look fine - they actually look just like the...
  17. Looking for the Frame paint PPG code Anyone?

I really like Rustoleum spray for the restorations I have done. Since we're posting non-Jeep related content, ... Satin Black on my Camaro: Semi-gloss for the last Land Rover I restored:
  18. Leaking rear window : fixes for those who don't want to play dealer roulette, wait 2 months, have their top scratched, seats ripped etc....

I installed mine almost a year ago and it still looks like the day I installed it. The pictures I posted above were taken today.
