  1. Anyone built a 'topper' within a rack?

I like the various racks I see but don't like the idea of my stuff getting all dusty and wet (I do live where it rains 11.9 months out of 12) so I am wondering if any one has gotten a rack and then used either plywood or sheetmetal to build a topper within the body of the rack. A rack like this...
  2. New seat tilt product

I bought a set from them. In my Wrangler I just put a large nut between the floor and the seat rail - worked to give some tilt. These put more tilt in my Gladiator than I thought they would. But I think they are a more solid solution than using two nuts. It really tilted the front of the...
  3. Say goodnight, Gladys

My wife as stuck in the middle of an intersection doing a right turn (entered on green, turned red before she could get all the way through), traffic had come to an unexpected stop before she could clear all the way into her lane. A driver got the green light and hit her while she was in that...
  4. Say goodnight, Gladys

My son was t-boned in his Mustang. After it was repaired he immediately went and traded it in for a truck. Repair was not on Carfax yet. So, if you plan to do that, you probably should do it as soon as you have it back. Don't give any time for Carfax to get the info in their system.
  5. Say goodnight, Gladys

Good reasons I did not get that on my insurance coverage. Both my Wrangler and Gladiator are pretty well tracking above what I owe on the market. Getting them below invoice helped a lot in that regards. So 1 did not apply, 2 did, but evened out, no trade involved. I think my Wrangler is...
  6. Say goodnight, Gladys

Geico does offer loan value option. I don't think anyone actually offers 'replacement', but dealers offer Gap insurance which covers the difference between loan and value. Geico offers that as well - called Loan Val.
  7. Say goodnight, Gladys

If you were doing 60, then it is like being hit by someone doing 40 at a full stop. I'd say good thing you were on a freeway at speed, not at a stop light with him doing 100. Hope you are ok and no neck/shoulder problems. Maybe not totaled - the insurance company will evaluate the cost to...
  8. Anyone have electrical issues? My Jeep started acting crazy today

Followup - took it in to the service department. Not only device not supported but the NAV was off by a few miles and wrong direction of travel. Turns out the UConnect system lost it's id numbers and a new unit is on order. It apparently is a common enough problem that they have a TSB for it.
  9. Peterson Jeep in Idaho

If you work with Petersons do not deal with ordinary salesperson. You want to talk to Kent Shurtleff ([email protected]). He will get you a fantastic price. I bought my Wrangler there and got such a good deal I bought my Gladiator there as well. Short flight from Seattle to Boise...
  10. Dead Gladiator

Turns out that the radio lost it's id numbers. New radio on order. Known problem apparently since they had a TSB for it.
  11. Hi, We're Harker Outdoors! We build Expedition Driven Campers for Jeep Gladiator.

Thank you for answering. I am looking at different solutions for having a bed cover and a tent. Decided against the varied rack systems because everything could get wet/dusty/dirty. RSI and RLD have nice toppers but then have to buy a separate RT tent. This rather looks like a decent solution.
  12. Hi, We're Harker Outdoors! We build Expedition Driven Campers for Jeep Gladiator.

It's hard to really see from some of the pictures - the inside is not lit up very well. Looks like there is a platform inside for sleeping? but it does not go full length stopping a couple feet short of the end of the bed?
  13. Anyone have electrical issues? My Jeep started acting crazy today

Runs fine - but UConnect system gives me 'Device not Supported' and the GPS is not working - don't know if they are the same problem or 2 different problems. Back down to the dealer on Wednesday. And seriously considering the Genesis Dual Battery system.
  14. RSI Smartcap

Is it just the plastic rail cover or is the metal under the plastic bent as well?
  15. RSI Smartcap

Just curious if you had a rack loaded up on top?
  16. Anyone have electrical issues? My Jeep started acting crazy today

Correct. The dealer replaced it. The battery would not charge up and it is needed to control the electronics while you start the vehicle - would not start at all, not even a jump start. And after doing a jump-start attempt, the dash went wild and the wiper blades slowly moved back and forth -...
  17. Anyone have electrical issues? My Jeep started acting crazy today

Per the dealer, and after watching a Genesis Dual Batter install I can understand how, water had pooled around my aux/ess battery and had drained it. Apparenly some debris from trees had collected at the bottom of the battery tray and had clogged the drain hole - the debris apparently gets...
  18. Dead Gladiator

Now that I have it back, most of the settings were still fine. But I noticed that GPS appears to not be working - NAV shows me being somewhere else and the clock is not updating. Something for the dealer to do or do I need to do something?
  19. Dead Gladiator

I may consider doing the dual battery swap - this would be one reason to do so. Yes, the water may have killed it. Bad design that can let that much water collect around a battery. There should be more protection on that side of the battery, or better yet, not bury it so low under the fuses.
