So I sat in the LHD pre launch world tour vehicles, overland and rubicon.... as much as I was willing myself to love it... I just couldn’t and I’ll admit 99% of that is sticker price. It’s cool, it’s capable it’s over and above the top end price of anything on the market here.... rough coin is...
Just stating what Jeep will be up against in Aust. Dual cabs are one of the biggets markets over here, Jeeps point of difference here for market entry is pretty much the off-road prowess...which is where it's ramp over will be a weakness, the biggest sellers in the like for like dual cab are 24...
Correct. 11.5 is generally diff clearance and 15 is vehicle centre (rough)
The longer wheel base creates a poor ramp over.
A track maintenance tool used by parks over here is generally angled mounds across steep tracks to create a run off for water, rather than wash out tracks. But there also...
So red hot sloth has helped me out here...from his 2" lift and 35's it's showing 15.25" at the centre (roughly) of vehicle. So this will bring ramp over to around 24.7 degrees (which is close to my early days guestimate). In the real world market in Aust, that mod brings the gladiator to...
Test drove a wrangler out of curiosity and for a footy competition... had a yarn to the principal, he’s expecting mid next year, but they have been given nothing on pricing and options.... only thing of interest is he thought the 2.2 would be the diesel.... but then again he knew next to nothing...
Think it has been generally discussed here in a round about fashion....but a snorkle does not make your vehicle a submarine...most air boxes have a breather or relief nipple on them anyway...so if you sink to that level, it's generally going to be taking some water anyway.
Priority before air...
G'day all,
Now there are a few units out in the wild, I am asking if anyone has tried or checked if it is possible to fit a secondary battery and system in the engine bay area? (dual battery system)
Any information is always appreciated...exciting times, the gladiator is finally on the Jeep Aus...
Just had an excitable moment...went to Jeep Aust to ask the never ending "when" question...
Gladiator is now listed as "coming soon" officially... (mid 2020, for what thats worth)
You are correct Jeepn.... Ground clearance in reference to break over is the lowest point effectively at the centre of the vehicle (only used for calcs) The you have true "ground clearance" which in the real world is generally the bottom of the pumpkin on the diff...ie what is going to hit...
Cant believe after all this time, I have literally just found this thread.
My gut feel is they will go for the ranger raptor price end of the market. If they really want to sell some units, they will go for the Hliux/Ranger $60K Aud market. Tyre placarding will an Aus issue, as will the age...
