These are reasonably common is Aust now...but generally on legs so you can access the standard tub and then use the secondary storage.
Most people are using them for roof top tent set ups but below roofline on tub racks, and they are extremely good in that scenario
Handy tips that have come close to bringing me undone in the past....do you have a tow hitch? (that adds a good couple of inches)
Protruding recovery points or even a winch fairlead (another inch or so) Also check the roller door type...mine is segmented and every 3rd? has a larger support rib...
Jeep has been remarkably quiet on this vehicle...not even a tiny public hint. I got a follow up call from a Jeep affiliate as I put the cheeky "YES" I am interested in purchasing a jeep on a survey...when I told him, I'm only interested in the Gladiator, he knew of it and believes early 2020...
G'day BOS, throwing 16" GC and 137.3 WB into the calc still only give 26.2 breakover. (using the base figure of 11" GC...I gave you 5" as what it may increase)...I could be well wrong in the real world...but the front wheel being so far foward and creating such a long wheel base actually reduces...
So this is starting to concern me with knowledge of local conditions. Checked my current set-up and it's calculating out around the 28 angle mark. Which I know gives just enough clearance on burms, entry/exits and similar here (it's a 2008 hilux only running 2" lift on 33's...so nothing...
Here's my Aust take....yep it looks like it is gunna be eye-watering price wise. However, on the flip side...if I purchased a stock dual cab ute and then added the fruit to be wrangler equivalent, then the pricing is becoming comparable. ie my standard ute has approx $16K in add-ons to make it...
G'day all,
Just checking if anyone else has looked at the breakover and potential improvements. I ask, as I see a lot of DC utes get hung up over here and damage rigs.
The stock 20.4 is woeful, but my rough calcs of a 2" lift + 35's after settling would achieve around 24.
This only brings it...
Here's my dumb response....every since my youth and seeing CJ5 and 7's I have always wanted a "Jeep"....but I drive a dual cab 4x4 and love the practicality of it....to date jeep hasn't offered this...now they do. Thus my extreme interest
Will be very interesting to see how they price in Aus with currency conversion and market share they want (dual cabs are a key markey currently over here)...dierct conversion puts it in an interesting price range...although the "full" rubi is crazy at $84K+
G'day Ian, I think there was a more recent(is) win...but it is very dependent on state...and oddly I think it had something to do with the seat height....I could probably look up the link when I find some time
Very left field question, are there any dash level cup holders....i have them in the hilux and love them... not in the ranger, and everyone i know complains that they are not.
It's an interesting one....i agree the jeep 2.2 is rubbish and i "want" the 3.0....conversely the raptor 2.0 matched with the 10 speed it's getting good reviews, and is now a std ranger option. I'm just curious as to longevity.
But to win market jeep must bring the 3.0
Mate, you have clearly never been in an aussie supermarket carpark... tight fit if your in a suzuki jimney!.... I'm doing the Austin powers 50 pt shuffle to get the hilux in and out of most parks.... sure as sh!t camera or sensors are needed on a dc ute....
G'day Stars....they are about over here and they are over $75K. They look good, but by Aust dual cab ute standards it is a pretty big unit...I wouldnt want to be trying to park it in a supermarket here. The reviews tend to like it, and the 2.0 bi turbo mated to the 10 speed seems a...
Due to the seemingly endless wait for even a tiny glimmer of a release date in Aust, just checking in with you guys... if I go to a showroom and check out the seating and cabin size in the JL 4 door....will that give a pretty close representation of the Gladiator cab? I'm really starting to...
