Mate, I've also put this up in the "what would you pay" thread. With currency conversion it's pretty close to US pricing...but I'm guessing the Gladiator is going to come in around 'cruiser price...which is crazy
Wowee...I have just seen that the 2019 Wrangler Rubicon is released at an eye-watering $68,950 here
That 99% confirms my fears they will bring the gladiator in at the niche (landcruiser pricing) end of the market. If it's anywhere near comparitive rates to the standard wrangler they aint going...
It's interesting as I am in a 10 y/o vehicle now...and on reflection has had some mechanical coin spent on it. (stupid Toyota injectors...anyway, that's a whole other discussion) and couldnt tell you what it would rate agains current safety standards. Funny I accept the risk of the kids in my...
G'day all, just getting the thoughts on the US "feel" for Jeep and its inherent quality (or lack thereof)
The Australian Jeep market is going to need to ovecome quite a negative perception of the current Wrangler products. Everything from engine issues, seatbelt issues, safety rating queries...
In Aust, I'm hoping is comes in around the $50 - $60K mark...otherwise it goes into a really niche low volume high cost market.
Think the Raptor is around the $80K+...and there aint many on the roads!
If I can come in close to $50K and then $10K for mods...I'm doing OK.
They havent really stated...

It's why I added a reverse camera ro assist while I do my Austin powers impression shuffling the car back and forth in car parks to get a clear...
Pretty sure I saw in one of the spec sheets the turning circle is 13.5 metres...which in Aust puts it pretty much worst in class and about a metre more than competitors (Ranger is 12.7, Hilux is 11.8)
I've always run diesel for the lower end torque...bit more control up and down hills with not so much loud pedal. Plus the odd trailer with wood, ditrbikes or camping gear etc... that being said, ny current daily runner is really not liking the short run to a train station to get to work...so...
I'm still sticking with that departure angle is horrendeous!....something just isn't right We'd get hung up on the most basic water crossing exit or burm entry with that set-up. Fingers crossed I am wrong!
Starting to seriously question the arrival/release date in Aust....I'm hanging on to my existing rig...but the intial plan was to upgrade to the Jeep in early 19....which then puts my existing in 10yr + category. Re-sale drops dramatically for me...so longer Jeep takes, the less likely...
