First tow after lift for a little crappie fishing. Went with an 8” drop hitch, probably could’ve went 10”. Made loading very bad as bunks are too steep. Also if there were any questions about re-gearing, this just answered it. Have to do it.
Let me start by saying I’m not advocating for his prices but do to supply and demand, there is a bunch of this stuff on back order. I’ve basically redone my build sheet 4 times trying to get stuff in to start.

17” and larger would most likely be to clear the diameter of brakes. Where the wheel spacer will give outward length for clearance of control arms.
As papa mentioned, with 5 if you rotate it in you will get longer time span between complete replacement.
but an even bigger advantage is if you damage a tire wheel you’re good to keep rolling.

I only tow a boat or flat trailer so no experience with towing an rv with jt.
I do however tow a Jeep, (jk or jt) behind a motor home. My advise would be from personal experience on loading for trips. My family is somewhat of prepers.

I flat tow gladiator behind motor home. I’m a big guy so I got a big kayak. Truck bed extender is too long.
I built mine out of 2in schedule 40 pvc to haul kayak on top wife and daughters in the bed and bikes on the hitch.
