My 2020 TurboDiesel Rubicon JT is ordered. Although the consumer web site does not show the 2021s yet, the dealer order system has it all in there. The only glitch we found was that it forced the dealer to add a tonneau cover when we selected the dual top group, then it would not allow him to...
The only number I see on the build sheet is the GVW Rating, which is 6350 for the Sport and Overland and 6450 for the Rubicon. I ordered mine this morning and the dealer thinks we will have a VIN next week. He says that since it is a "sold" order and they are a high volume dealership, mine...
The order book for 2021 Rubicons offers this enticing option. Unfortunately, not for the diesel. Even though I have an appointment to order my diesel in less than an hour, I am intrigued by this new option. Anybody know anything about it?
My only disappointments are that I can‘t get the diesel Rubicon with the new rock trac full time four wheel drive and that it does not have UConnect 5. Oh well. It looks like I can get everything else. Tomorrow was supposed to be annual detailing day for the LJ, but now I have another Jeep to...
Welcome to the forum. There is a lot of information already here. If anybody had the definitive answer, it would already be posted. I suggest you read the thread immediately below this one. It has the best information I know about. I tend to believe only information publicly stated by FCA...
This is good to know and will influence my purchase decision. I think I will go with the aftermarket mats like I have on my current Jeep. The water off my feet puddles in the bottom and I either towel it out or try to remove the mat to pour it out (which never works well). I would rather have...
I suppose this may be a stupid question, but since I don’t have my Gladiator yet (diesel holdout) I have no way of testing this. The rated fording capacity is 30 inches. I measured a lifted Galdiator with 37s and 30 inches is still well above door level. In my current Jeep, I try to keep to...
There are a number of threads in the Diesel engine forum down below with lots of information for you to consider from people with various viewpoints. Remember when comparing costs to do so on an apples to apples basis, taking into account things like the auto transmission that are included in...
I can't speak to the Mojave question, but as to the release by the end of the calendar year, it was stated by the Jeep VP on the "First ever Jeep Brand digital livestream roundtable" that was held on April 21. You should be able to find a link to it on this site somewhere. It was heavily...
There was an article I found when I recently Googled “UConnect 5” and selected “news stories“ that listed the order of FCA vehicles that would get it first and the Wrangler/Gladiator was not on the list. You never know whether the reporter had good info. I don’t recall whether he cited a source...
The fact that the Jeep VP reaffirmed the “calendar year 2020“ promise For the release of the diesel when they did that video chat deal a few weeks back was reassuring for me, as that was a post-COVID comment. That said, I tend to agree it will be late in the year and a 2021 year model (which is...
The Wall Street Journal today reported that FCA has reopened an Italian factory that builds vans on a limited basis. They have also opened several facilities that supply that factory. They only listed the cities in which those facilities are located and Cento, where VM Motori is located, was...
During the live steam forum today, the Jeep Brand VP reiterated “by the end of this year.” He also said they had not done a good job lining up enough parts for the Wrangler roll out (he said something about competition for parts within the company) and it had taken too long to get the orders...
Search on Truxedo Elevate Bed Rack. There is a thread on it and a discussion in a few places of tonneau covers that work with it, including the Bak Revolver X4. Any rack that goes in a T slot will work with the tonneaus that are so equipped.
Good luck.
I thought I would stir this thread. We have all discussed the risks, benefits and costs of diesel v. gas and I will take my chances on the diesel, even if it costs me more. One item I have not seen monetized in the comparisons that point out the cost of the automatic transmission being included...
I am thinking about that bumper. I have read a few reviews and they are generally good, but a few folks reported issues with the installation and installing the Warn winch. I am a bit confused as to why you would have to trim to fit a Warn winch into a Warn bumper. Did you have any issues?
I think you need that winch regardless. Tell her I said so. I have used my winch on shrubs, but be careful on the larger ones. For some smaller shrubs in the back where I could not get the Jeep, I used the Li-Lift jack as a winch. I put a tree strap around a nearby tree and a choker chain...
