  1. Running Hotter and Losing Coolant

I had a slow leak. UV light showed leak around the bottom of the coolant reservoir and coolant that had sprayed and dripped onto rhe EGR cooler. Turned out to be a small crack that would only leak (only slightly) under pressure. Crack from the inside.

Yes, plenty of bugs can be seen under UV lights!
  4. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

As posted in another thread, UV light is very effective in finding coolant leaks.

Trying to figure out how to minimize spill took the longest time. If you're just replacing the bottle, the hand transfer pump works great- which is what I used. Just get the hose as far down as possible. You can use a turkey baster as well (no screen in the bottle). Once empty, just unbolt the...

Replaced my coolant reservoir and outlet hose. I think I found the source of the leak. Looks like a crack near the outlet nipple on the bottom. The new coolant reservoir looks so much better. Didn't realize how dirty the old one was.

Installed MORE steps over bed sliders. Much easier to climb up when tailgate is down.

That makes sense. I was curious why the diaphragm had seal ridges and explains why the old one looked expanded and curled over.

I just traced the PCV hose to the end and found the valve. After I twisted it, I had to rock it back and forth to get the O-ring to slip. Have just under 46k miles on it. I heard the part had gone through a couple revisions. The new one has a completely different core part number. The new one I...
  10. In my defense I was left unsupervised.

Haha, that's right. And only in California would someone pay that much for a dealer lifted Sport. I suppose one would be paying for the convenience (and maybe warranty), or they're led to believe that a wench will actually show up.

  12. Losing antifreeze

Using a UV light is very effective. I had been losing coolant and smelling it ocassionally. I had a bad head gasket that was replaced under warranty, and I was hoping it wasn't that again. The coolant shows up very bright under a UV light. Looks like I have a leak under the reservoir that...
  13. Leather care experts help me out?

I can't tell if yours just needs to be cleaned and conditioned or if it needs color. If mine ever fades, I'll probably try this stuff from Furniture Clinic. If it's anything like their leather steering wheel repair kit, it should do wonders...
  14. Leather care experts help me out?

Other forum members recommended Aero Cosmetics cleaner and protectant, so I tried it. It's been great for my factory leather seats. On many seats, including factory, only the seating surfaces are real leather. Rest is some sort of vinyl...

The left side and top of my steering wheel was pretty bad. The bonded surface had deteriorated and was grimy feeling. Ran across a repair kit on Amazon. Pretty easy to prep and apply. Although it's a five step process, it goes pretty quick. Instructions say it can be handled in three hours and...

Super happy with Alpine SPV-65-JLT. Had to do some cutting, but well worth it.
