  1. 3.6 Cam Self destruction

If you change your cams and followers, you should change out the VVL solenoids and thoroughly clean the phasers.
  2. 3.6 Cam Self destruction

It is a possibility the calibration could be causing it. If that is the case, it would mean that cam timing tuning is limited to areas that conserve the cam, which would be unknown to anyone but Jeep engineers. This also leaves very few options for making power safely with the supercharger...
  3. 5.7 Hemi install

Nothing foundational wrong with the tunes. I remapped the transmission to work better with his lug curve, it is what I do for a living. There is some stuff going on with using the stock 3.6L ECM that has to be used and the new displacement. I reworked that, and while.in there, put in some...
  4. 5.7 Hemi install

I would be happy to work with you
  5. ATV (2019 Can Am 850 Outlander) fits in Gladiator bed

Huh, I did not know they changed the width. I just picked up a 2018 for my daughter. At any rate I hauled mine around alot. I never had tailgate issues and let me tell you there were a couple pants cleaning moments I thought it was surely gone. Never even a wrinkle, they made thise straps...
  6. ⚠️ Announcing New Member’s Marketplace / Classifieds Section Rules

These are decent rules. I just got taken on my new forum. It sucks. Reminds me I must be way above market on my bumper. No one wants it. :-(
  7. Gladiator is not the only one suffering

Well good take offs. The stuff out of my engine is only a couple months old. The other engine had 40k or less on it and is good
  8. Gladiator is not the only one suffering

Just to be clear the cam and follower stuff I have available is stock stuff. Willing to let it go for next to nothing for a guy that needs it. I don't have a use for it anymore
  9. Gladiator is not the only one suffering

Isky cams would be a 2fer. Superior metallurgy and better performance. If any one needs cam stuff I have two engines worth.
  10. Gladiator is not the only one suffering

In my mind it explains one lobe pretty good. How much oil pressure is to much? When does the high lift pin disengage? What happens if it engaged early? There's a control here with basically no controls on it. In my mind I had a low tolerance follower and it was getting engaged when it shouldn't...
  11. Gladiator is not the only one suffering

So my So my take on that is the VVL solenoids were leaking. The lobes with wear, were the air purge for the excess cylinder pressure as they were no locked out all the way. Here are some pictures of when I lost a single lobe on cylinder 6, I was able to see it in the data. Sure enough the...
  12. Gladiator is not the only one suffering

It's not oiling as in bad passages and stuff. There are two high lift solenoid actuators per cylinder and a new cam phaser for the intake cam that is different starting with the the VVL motor. CAM position is controlled via calculated air charge. Aircharge is calculated using throttle position...
  13. Gladiator is not the only one suffering

The high lift and cam phasing is an issue
  14. Gladiator is not the only one suffering

I am over on the Duranho forum now, and I just thought I would share an observation. They have almost identical and as many engine complaints as we do over here. The latest iteration is giving Durango owners fits as well.
  15. DAVECS1 Update (NSFW) joking!

I like that idea. The 5.7L is probably the most reliable engine from chrysler bin. I like the 6.4L and 6.2L for sure, but the 5.7L offers alot of the good V8 stuff while keeping things at levels that make it easy for things to survive. I have done my best to make the 3.6L to survive at elevated...
  16. Reliability concerns

The last generation 3.6 cannot be lumped in with this engine. The new engine has VVL mixed in with VVT and they have disabled the adjustable timing tables that were used in previous models to deal with weather and bad gas. My guess is they did not have time or a good solution to octane maps...
  17. Reliability concerns

Change the oil a couple time within 3000 miles and use Quaker State or Penzoil ULTRA. Also use a wide or Mopar filter. Chances are you variable lift solenoids and cam phasers are running slow or sometimes not at all. This gets worse when it is colder out. The variable lift solenoids are on at...
  18. Illinois $500 LOD Destroyer Stinger Front bumper and skid plate

I traded in my Gladiator and I am selling my lightly used like new front bumper. Has all the stainless steel hardware to go with it. Really beefy unit, one of the nicer pieces I bought for my Jeep. As you can see, Shipping may not be the easiest thing to do.
  19. Illinois Sold: $1800 Used Magnuson Supercharger JL/JT

Selling my Magnuson Supecharger kit. Has 37K miles on it. Everything checks out and is ready to be installed. 20. DAVECS1 Update (NSFW) joking!

KMC Roswells with Klever 35x10.5x17s. Those were the quietest, smoothest riding, 35s I have ever come across. In the Midwest they were awesome on muddy roads.
