Thanks for the detailed photos, now I'm not as nervous to take this one (I've had them a month now in the box). The last photos of the plastic piece you removed, does that require removal just to be able to cut the bumper, and did you cut it an reinstall, or does it need to be left out for the...
I bought mine back in March last year, so fairly early on. And yes they have a lot of options and add ons either ready to go, or in the works. I really love how reachable these guys are and are very active on the FB page. They aren't afraid to find solutions for all kinds of truck set ups, in...
I ended up with the Xtrusion Overland rack. I really like the versatility of it, all aluminum, you can add a lot of DIY stuff. I was even able to mount my old Yakima racks with the towers, they fit right into the T-slot channels. That way I can use my kayak mounts for trips to the beach and send...
The bolt is in a bit too deep for the dremel idea, I had thought of that. In fact I thought maybe I could cut another bolt very short and catch the few threads. I have to look into it further. So far it's fine.
Well I got it installed successfully, mostly. Thanks for the help. I did manage to rip a bolt head off while mounting one of the upper brackets; my torque wrench malfunctioned. But I think it's still on there pretty good. I have to take it in for some service soon, so I'm gonna as the tech if...
Ha ha, good to know. I don't have parking sensors and neither does the one I'm looking at so that helps. But yeah, I'd have to move over all the wiring for the lights and trailer lighting too. I'm guessing this is a weekend job, not something to just jump into.
I assuming you went from a plastic rear bumper to a Rubicon steel bumper? I'm looking to do the same and wondering if there are any additional parts needed besides these two bolts you mention. The one I'm considering buying also has the bed sliders and the brackets that go with them. Just...
Well, call me a doofus but in my excitement to get the rivnut things on I put the ones for the bottom brackets on the outside instead of the inside. And I didn't realize I needed rivnuts for the upper brackets. Fortunately one of the ones for the upper bracket (inside) is directly across from...
Well it seems I scored. He had all the bolts but he didn't realize it until he double checked. So I just need to pick up the rivnuts. I'll check with the dealer. They range in cost on line from $2 to $12 a piece. $12 seems a bit steep! (come on Quadratec!)
Thanks Dean! Just the info I was looking for. Yes I have the brackets just need the hardware. I checked and I'll need the nutserts too. I'll probably have to go to the dealer if I wanna get just the hardware, though we have a good hardware store nearby. I have the Sport S plastic bumper which I...
Nice to see you got them installed so quick! Mine are still in the box, lol. How did it go and how long did it take you? Any tips? Did the plastic cutting go OK? Looks like a nice install.
Curious if you guys know because I just bought one of these second hand without hardware, just the skid and brackets. Is there a hardware list somewhere? The bolts should be easy enough to find, but what are those black things in the photo? Are they nutserts?
Well, I opened my box today...baby steps. Everything looks well packaged and no damage in shipment. Just going to read up on cutting the bumper, only get one shot at that. I'm hoping to minimize the cutting but it does come with a strip of rubber U-channel to cover the cut edge. That's a nice touch.
They appear to be back in stock! Delivery by 12/24. Mine arrived yesterday in San Diego but I've not yet installed. Shipping was about 6 days, Just FYI. But their tracking was very good.
Crap! yeah I just had an alert set with them to let me know when they'd be in stock and I ordered them right away. They should be here today or tomorrow. I didn't want to order them until they were in stock since they kept pushing back the ship date.
Thanks, that's not a huge deal. I'll keep it in mind and will reach out again after the holidays if you don't sell them before. Would you consider meeting somewhere between us? I'm in San Diego just east of La Jolla. University City. Maybe somewhere just above or below Camp Pendleton?
I'd been looking for a while too. Extreme Terrain has some decent ones from RedRock. I just ordered them. At $215 plus tax, not a bad deal. They look pretty good, similar look to stock and get good reviews from customers. They were out of stock for a while but just came back in stock in the past...
