  1. Safe way to keep FAD engaged?

I thought about that too. My dilemma there is if I'm going to start taking stuff apart I'm just going to fix the problem for good, which kind of defeats the purpose of the warranty and the war I've started with these service departments. I'd have to put the collar back in again when I went to...
  2. Safe way to keep FAD engaged?

OK, here's my problem. I have a bone stock '21 JT Rubicon manual and I WANT TO KEEP IT THAT WAY. I am NOT modifying this truck in any way, whether it's with a Taser or with a $2000 solid front axle kit that I absolutely don't need so please don't go down that road. I currently have the...
  3. Rausch Creek March 26th meetup

Sorry but I've never been - is that something that's realistic to do? Or, once you start down a trail you're stuck on it until you get out? I can't imagine getting halfway down Moab Rim trail and deciding it's time to go home, but then I've never been to Rausch or AOAA for that matter.
  4. Rausch Creek March 26th meetup

Just out of curiousity, about how long do you guys expect to be out there? I really want to tag along but we've got a thing and would have to peel off by about 1 or 2....
  5. Rubicon - Plastic bumper to Steel Bumper Conversion

Stupid question, I recently converted from plastic bumper to steel (the cheapo Amazon one, but same design / style). I have factory LED fogs and removed the "wings". Doing so leaves the backside of the fogs and the wiring plugs very exposed. For those of you who are running this bumper in...
  6. What's this FNC Brake rotor finish?? Which model got it?, Should off road rotors be drilled and slotted, or flat finish??

You should definitely NOT have drilled of slotted rotors for off-road use. Too easy for small pebbles and debris to get stuck in them and just chew the hell out of your pads, and chip out the edges. In fact, drilling / slotting is pretty much ineffective for anything people think it's for...
  7. Fog light wiring on el cheapo Rubi bumper reproduction

Installed my cheap Rubicon steel bumper repro last night. Like it a lot. One question, the backside of the fog lights and the wiring pigtail seems kind of vulnerable. Is there any kind of cover you guys have made to protect that? Any pics?
  8. Rausch Creek March 26th meetup

Add me in to this group too! Bone stock Rubicon, haven't had it out yet because I've only had it 3 months and also had some house reno going on. Been about 20 years since I sold my built TJ and haven't really gone since (never have kids). Itching to get out again.
  9. Need help tracking down an intermittent noise

Thing is I'm trying to look in my parking lot at work in the dark. It'll be dark again when I get home tonight. But with my cellphone flashlight it looks like that plastic rub strip that wraps around the spring is turned to the inside? Trying to do a little homework before I try and dig into...
  10. Need help tracking down an intermittent noise

They couldn't find anything and tried to blame it on my undercoating. Figure I can try to go w them some direction.
  11. Need help tracking down an intermittent noise

OK, this noise has gotten exponentially worse over time. I have a sneaking suspicion something is up with my right rear coil spring. Does anyone happen to have a picture of a bone stock Rubicon right rear coil spring? I think something's up with the isolator or something, and comparing the...
  12. Is this how my ball joints are supposed to look?

Not really. I've done dozens of sets of BJs and just never had them look like this. The noise I have is definitely not a balljoint noise, this is just something I happened to notice while I was under there scrounging around.
  13. Is this how my ball joints are supposed to look?

Ok thanks. I assumed since both mine were the same and I have no drivability issues other than the noise, it was fine but I just wanted to check. Thank you!
  14. Is this how my ball joints are supposed to look?

'21 JTR bone stock. Trying to track down an annoying graunching noise when I go over tiny bumps (like expansion joints) but not over larger bumps. Under the truck and going over bushings etc. and the upper ball joints just don't look quite right to me. Almost like they're not seated. Both...
  15. Have to re-pair BT on phone after using AA

Mine looks identical except I'm missing the entire "Phone screen settings" section. ?
  16. Have to re-pair BT on phone after using AA

This is over the wired connection. Haven't gotten the wireless module yet.
  17. Have to re-pair BT on phone after using AA

OK, I managed to get all of these settings changed except I could not find 'Turn Bluetooth On when Android Auto is Running' anywhere. Not in the AA app, not in Uconnect, not in the phone settings, whether the phone was connected to the truck or not, with BT on or off. That said, I had three...
  18. Have to re-pair BT on phone after using AA

Yeah I found that, have to change that setting next time I go out and plug in. If I just open the app on my phone without it being linked to anything, I don't get the settings menu. Thank you!
  19. Have to re-pair BT on phone after using AA

Thanks for this. I changed the phone settings, I'll look for the "Turn BT On" setting on the truck when I get out of work today. Appreciate it!
