Mojave owner checking in, love mine, like the look, needed the 4.10 gearing to tow, have no need for really big tires and lift. I started out at the dealer looking for an Overland which can be very nicely loaded and is still a very capable vehicle for your needs, I had to move onto the Rubicon...
I have run with this whole thread, read a lot of the posts, I threw a few out there myself, after over two thousand posts I have decided post #2001 by Midnight rider is the best for two reasons:
1) That was and is a beautiful woman.
2) My wife thinks it's great she was considered the cool...
Reach out to them, but the number is between 168 to 198 pounds on the chart I looked at comparing all the models, I think that weight number covers the small truck caps and fullsize also perhaps. I don't have the documentation around but my shipping weight was a lot more then the cap. My...
I know I am going off topic, but looking at that Gladiator crew chief concept truck , I have to say I like skinny tires!!
Ok time to get back on topic!…
Do you think there is any chance that Chance_P will by chance read this post and have a chance of being the 2,000 post, giving him the chance to vindicate himself by chance? If by chance you don’t know who Chance_P is take a chance and read the first post….Jack
Worked buddy, look two more posts my friend, still can’t believe you got 1941, I posted way back that I was going to get it after getting 1800 I think! I’ll check back in a while!……Jack
I just don’t think you Gladiator people have what it takes to get to 2,000 posts, I can not believe how you all have stumbled on a simple need to post a few posts while sleepy from turkey, 49 more to go, it’s like all you pathetic wanna be Bronco owners are just like the Broncos….not showing...
I see it as a attempt to protect the hitch receiver and bumper, and most videos of people dragging the hitch or a skid plate are slow motion going up or down a drop off, Hitch should take that protected or not......Jack
Pictures of finished skid, the two improvements were reducing how much it is below the tow eyes to about 1/4”, and rounding off those two corners at outside top, walking into it just moves your leg out no pain. I don’t think I’ll drive around with it in and have it under rear seat , and might...
Finally played with my hitch skid from Warfab, I never can leave things alone, just had to modify it, by cutting the width down to just quarter inch past the tow eyes , cut the corners where I will walk into it at a forty five angle, rounded every edge and took about an inch out of the depth of...
That is not a HF hitch skid, he took a receiver hitch drop hitch cut it and welded it, which is pretty cool, only negative is it doesn’t protect the tow eyes directly but would almost all the time…..Jack
Really, really nice job both by the designer and fabricator. It might be neat to flip the bolt on hitch section to top of that cross member and put bolts in with nuts facing front would really clean up the rear end look, but give you a pretty big drop hitch, I might just have a ten inch aluminum...
You are setting the bar pretty high for others picking up at Gupton. Sure..... you got a JT and then drove home, I'll cross America with Dad, hitting trails others only dream about, selling tires to Kindred spirits along the way, hitting tough trails while carrying the old suspension in the bed...
I just worry tape or adhesive is going to let go sooner or later, the way my cap is put together there are "ledges at the outside I can set the white board in with a rubber grommet to keep it quiet. Either way , thanks for bringing it up, got me thinking about going ahead and just get it done...
