Surf rack will have to come off to use the winch, I have a Curt front receiver for rack to slide in , my longest Lami rod is 12’. Usually have rods on top of cap for ride to beach then run around at beach with them in rack, don’t hit stop lights or not too low to plow sand……Jack
Lot of guys are figuring out how to use the plastic bumper with winches, I used a LOD winch plate that fits flush with front of frame horns seems real solid and powder coating was excellent, plus price was right at $149.00……Jack
Ps: Rotating the clutch handle to rear let’s you keep bumper top...
I think full width bumpers that cover the tire a bit might help MPG a bit ,stubby bumpers are better for hard core wheeling. Being a weight weenie is not a bad thing, a lot of guys put 200 plus pounds on front of Jeep when doing a winch and bumper, then they are putting spacers in to help...
I also have the half panel as I have a locker switch on other side, I like it a lot and still have one left over to use, the four panel one might come up short depending what you are using and the one you are talking about does have the ground bus. I have mine hooked as on all the time versus...
Foot was not on the gas, I could not take my hands off the wheel and the swaying was across two lanes on a very long down hill, just holding the wheel straight the sway stay almost controllable, it was a long ride down, still get upset thinking about it and I was totally soaked in sweat.
I...
I have the Voswitch and love it ,the fuses are 30amp and all relays are 40amp, you should pull the fuse and put a much lower rating in there o protect what ever you are wiring to., as ShadowsPapa said.....Jack
Any trailer brake controller should have the emergency button that can be reached by your passenger if possible,.We had a long ,long down hill in a Tahoe towing our Whaler with surge brakes fishtailing across two lanes, I realized it was swaying back and forth but was staying sort of straight...
Looks amazing Mike, I was worried it would look too big but looks like it belongs there. You have set the bar pretty high and we are all a bit vertically challenged….Jack?
Like guys are saying sure it will fit, the rubicon and Mojave standard plastic bumpers come with same skid plate just different colors, and will fit any of the models with the couple brackets that are needed to mount them, the Steel bumper on rubicon, the skid bolts to the bumper.
Did this mod...
The ocean always seems to take the beach, they had to move the Cape Hatteras lighthouse pretty far to save it from falling into the ocean. Pretty impressive move on sand when you look at how tall and huge it is. The Delaware Cape Henolopen light house fell into the ocean, and some of the...
Just be aware that sand is different ,a lot of people post that they did good on the beach, but in the pictures I can’t even see tire marks in the sand. Hatteras at places can eat your truck, Delaware has had a lot of stuck trucks this year. Your tires are not stretched on the rims I would air...
Bill, just for snow plowing , is it just your place or are you going on the road and doing others? How about air bags in the front for plowing, only air up when you need to plow, and not sacrifice the smooth ride you have now. I never heard of air bags on front but why not, I ran them on my...
I put Max Tow rear springs on my Mojave as suggested by Chris (White Rabbit) they gave the rear a little more stiffness, but were shorter so I put in a Icon, aluminum 1 3/8” spacer as the springs were compressed a little by my RSI cap, I am very pleased with how it rides, still a smooth ride...
Gave up on vendor sending me the Flatlink, and also found out the 1/2” pipe thimble Warn uses on this winch does not feed though the hauser they supplied, so one call to Factor 55, quick talk ,flat link and short drum fairlead was here in two days. Fairlead is of course much lighter then the...
I did my single the way Ryan is showing you ,yes use one of the lower amp rated aux switches. I’m very pleased with the single for my 33” tires 18 to 39 pounds in about a minute and a half a tire…..Jack
The Overland is fine for you, I started out getting one but decided to get the 4.10 axle ratio for towing and ended up by with a Mojave. I think the Overland with AT tires is a great choice, can be loaded up nice, try and get the selectrac auto transfer case if you can having AWD is a great...
