Take a look at Ctek tenders or optimate battery tenders, these have been real solid tenders and might be step up from autoparts store and Chinese discount tenders.
I second the walmart suggestion, I have had good luck buying the best walmart battery for half the price of the premium brand name battery.
Here in AZ it doesn't matter the brand, the heat kills all lead batteries in 4 years without bias.
I have had good luck buying brand name LI-PO batteries...
If you are going to pop for new seat, get some that have the "suspension" function. Basically they help reduce you getting bounced around in the rocks. Corbeau has a line of them

I wonder if you could take a OEM gasser tank and install it on diesel..... The frame should be the same and have provisions for a mounting....

Get a lift kit. Mopar lift or any one of the half dozen discussed here. The added height gives you the clearance and better spring rates you need. Plus you are running 35's so a lift won't hurt.
