So I was cruising the forum and was inspired by @Benbean66 . Looks like He is building an overland trailer too. A few months ago I started a similar, only bigger project with a 6x12 cargo trailer built for our previous gasser JT. We bought the new diesel because although the gasser pulled it...
If the weather strip adhesive doesn’t stick well, get some HD carpet seam tape. It’s waterproof and has a double sided stick tenacity that bonds well. I’ve used this stuff to join a tyvek seam when making a bivi tent for ultra-lite bike packing.
This is the combo I’ve been looking for. Do you also have the saddle brown interior? I assume that’s the softopper because I haven’t seen any other mfrs that make one other than black.
I’ve got a pair of EAG doors with the pockets. Had the, from my previous JT but haven’t put them on the new one yet. I modified these to put the pockets on the inside. No clue why they put them outside. Cheap, simple, just for a sense of piece of mind. Doubt they are safe in a highway accident...
Buttoned up the wiring For the winch. For those that have the diesel and Aux option. The wires ARE there next to the battery. Just hard to see. Man, this engine bay is packed!
Thanks. It’s a full length spiderweb shade. Actually just took the top off and it probably wont go back until octoberish. Rims are -18 offset. No poke.
installed a winch yesterday That I bought off a guy for a good deal. Ordered the Warn winch plate. install took about 4 hours and 3 Stone IPAs. Still need to pick up a solenoid today to clean up the power wiring.
I have 2. One on my wife’s JL and my JT. Had 3 other ones on previous Jeep’s. Many people don’t like it because it sags in the middle where there is an opening for the freedom top.
i doubt it will help at all with rain, but never got caught in a shower with the roof open. no concerns with wind.
Snow? Then he should have bought the snowtop, not the suntop. ?
Do we know if the top is intended to be an all season top? We don’t get a lot of snow around here. Might be a good option for me.
So I ordered the Warn winch plate. That should be here Monday. This is going to be a slow mod, I see it already. Luckily work gave me a worktruck and I can take my time with the Jeep.
next up- I want to relocate the control box. Can I just purchase heavy wire and move the box under the hood...
?
I have a StingGrey with tan interior and a tan spider shade. Looking at the tan softopper. Originally i was looking at the zroadz tack and was going to have a custom tan canopy made to go over it.
