  1. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Yep, pretty much this. My love of gear grabbing makes downshifting a joy when I need to though, not painful. Need more zip, just a shift away, and the low gears with 4.10s are plenty. But yeah, 5th and 6th are pretty much flat and cruising and nothing else. I had a way harder time (and still...
  2. Aftermarket Soft top?

I'll join the chorus of fold down to the bed. I didn't buy it with the Jeep because it doesn't fold down all the way, but after a year of tearing the hard top off every time I want to be roofless, I'd love having a soft top. But not one up in the corner of the roof. Just can't get over that...
  3. Production V8 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Hemi Spied!

Agreed on the dealbreaker. I'm so glad to be shifting gears again after a few automatic trucks, I can't go back. I'd love a bit more grumble, because, hey, why not... but not at the expense of the manual. But if they did it, I'm buying.
  4. How to spot a Mall Crawler

I hear ya. I lack some arcane knowledge how to do so. I read, watched video, I still end up with a bit of a mess. Not terrible, perfectly usable, but not close to perfectly wrapped.
  5. BLACK Gladiator JT Club

Finally had the chance to put it into full open air mode. I need to move somewhere it never rains and is never dusty. I'd sell the roof and doors.
  6. GATOR Gladiator JT Club

I for one love it. It has it's quirks, but at least in Rubi geared form with bigger tires, it does just fine. Any time it isn't doing fine, help is just a downshift away!
  7. Manual Transmission Club

Well, it's a blue ball! Looks great!
  8. Manual Transmission Club

First I heard of it. Had to go look. That said, mine behaved oddly a few times at first then went away. Just strange stuff at startup, but nothing that seemed to affect anything. It was so soon after getting the Jeep that I wasn't sure what it was all about. I had the Tazer sitting there...
  9. GATOR Gladiator JT Club

Love it. Ah, had I only had the patience and the knowledge my impatience wouldn't save me much having one time since it took 4 months to get mine (May order, September receipt). May the Gator still be there in 3 years. I was thinking black fenders, but I like your color matched with black...
  10. Manual Transmission Club

I drove there once. Quick in to a hotel valet through the Lincoln Tunnel, and then out to Long Island. Quite the experience. I get into a little traffic in Pittsburgh now and again, but nothing prepared me for New York! Way to go giving the manual hell there!
  11. Manual Transmission Club

Congrats on your first Jeep! Glad you're enjoying. That city MPG is brutal, but not much you can do there.
  12. GATOR Gladiator JT Club

I wouldn't add a thing. Well, maybe a winch and some lights. Put those on and you have the Gator Gladiator I couldn't wait for to come out!
  13. Manual Transmission Club

Yeah, probably it. Wheels are a bit heavier and tires are about 14lbs more each, so probably an extra 100 lbs plus the diameter physics. Other variables possible there too, I made the thing heavier with bumper, winch, RSE sliders. Full tank of fuel I scaled at just shy of 6,000 lbs with my...
  14. Manual Transmission Club

It's a matter of expectations. I got the Mopar 2" and 37s before I picked it up. There's plenty of power and low enough gears with a Rubi. No problems with any daily driving circumstances, I even think it rides great... for a lifted brick on 37s. It's not my last cushy Silverado... but being...
  15. Jeep'n the Kanab, Utah area in the Gladiator

I see your Rock Slides are mud catchers like mine. Once it's up there, nothing makes it come off. I have 2 week mud from hunting season still clinging in rain soaked globs. All the other various major crud washed off in rain, but the mud shelves carried on! Needs a bath.
  16. Manual Transmission Club

Yeah, another in there would have been cool. It messes with my gutometer running it as high as you have to, but I've adjusted. This hunting season has been great getting to know it in all sorts of situations and conditions. Even got it bloody for the first time this evening, so it's...
  17. Manual Transmission Club

Even with 4.10s, there's definitely a gap between 2 and 3. I had to train my brain to run 2nd longer, but once I got that out of my system it's pretty automatic now. I had the JK gear spacing on the brain, getting used to 4 being the old 5 and 5 being the old 6, and the new 6 is extra...
  18. Manual Transmission Club

That was my turnpike experience. I only dropped to 4th once in a while, and that was it's journey home from buying it so I didn't have it worked out very well. I did on purpose every now and again to vary the rpms a bit. Gave it hell on exit ramps and when I stopped for Roy Rogers chicken! I...
  19. Manual Transmission Club

I never had it not with 37s, and Rubicon as well. Your description is pretty much my experience too. The 4.10s must be the difference. I do a bit of shifting in various circumstances... but I like shifting. I figured the 4.10s would just offset the bigger tires and it might feel under...
  20. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Great example pics. Thanks for posting those!
