Thanks @Discount Tire. Yeah I went into my local Discount Tire and they agreed with me, that these should not be chunking this early on with low mileage and time. The big concern is the cracking between the lugs which means there is a bit of road rot going on with the rubber. My Discount Tire...
LOL... "Shittos"... ok... I'm remembering that one!
Yeah if you look at the pic, they are cracking on the lugs. These are truly a POS. So my next ones need to be something that is gonna last.
I have had my Nitto Trail Grappler 37s for about 2 years and they have a whopping 6000 miles on them. I have gone off-roading and handful of times and nothing crazy extreme. They see more highway miles than anything. So I was surprised at the missing rubber. I would assume this is a defect...
Brought it to the dealer today. It’s the same issue as @InvertedLogic. They need to replace the inside and outside shaft seals as well as the drain plug seal. Looks like the entire seal issue looks bad on this truck. They made a point to say they didn’t want me driving it. I had to drive it...
I'm guessing its the seal as the entire circumference of the transfer case has ATF fluid marks. Does that sound about right? Luckily I was able to find a dealership about 1.5 hours away but still not until the end of October :crying:
The subject says it all. Have any folks run into a leaking transfer case on low mileage vehicles? I just got my last Jeep Wave oil change/rotation and the mechanic said I had a leaky transfer case they need to look into. But they cant get me in until Nov 7. :swear:
Sorry for the delay, I just remembered to get these. The following pics should show the locations. I will show the passenger side as the driver is identical. But I will show passenger and driver front. All routing was done through the frame using fish tape.
Rear Passenger:
Passenger rear...
Do Discount Tire… they will price match and to top it off you get free tire rotations. Discount Tire is everywhere. Reach out to @Discount Tire here in the forums. Don helped me not only get a price match on my wheels but also got me discounts that nobody else offered.
I just got 37s on my 2020 JTR (4.10) and honestly, I barely notice a difference. Sometimes when I’m getting the highway up to speed, I have to let off the gas to allow the transmission to switch to another gear. But that’s it. I had it at 90 on I70 and it ran fine with that gas/transmission...
Let me give you some advice about lockers and their value. It depends on whether you are going to rock crawl and where you live.
I spend a lot of time in Moab. I can assure you there are features that without lockers, you will have a tough time and on some of the slick rock fins/features, you...
yep… had to press it good. You need to start with the tire hard pressed and seated up against the hitch. Then really push the tire upwards against the track bar. The track bar is smoother than the hitch as the tire gets stuck on the jagged metal of the hitch which is why you start from that...
I’ll throw in my .02. Nitto Trail Grapplers 37s did NOT fit in the spare location at full air. I had to take it down to 20 psi on a stock JTR of which it barely fit. It pressed up hard between the hitch and the track bar. On a Metal Cloak Game Changer lift with their beefy track bar… the...
Around town you should be fine. I had 37s for a month waiting on my lift parts.
As for off road… if you disconnect your sway bars… look for major rubbing. I wouldn’t do too much off roading that requires articulation. That will be a challenge.
I just had one installed in May with Nitto Trail Grappler 37s. I love it. I did it for the same reason as you… too much rub on the bottom. My maiden voyage was the trifecta (Poison spider, Golden Spike, Goldbar Rim). It ran it like a champ. I did Fins N Things a week later and no rub...
I just put on a MC 3.5” GC. It rides nicer than stock. I got mine with the Rocksport shocks and it’s nice and smooth. The downside to MC is the rear track bar is so beefy, it’s tough to get my new 37” Nitto Trail Grappler spare underneath. It’s pressed hard up against the track bar and...
