I run adjustable control arms and geometry correction brackets because as much as I like to wheel my JT, I also like to drive it on the road as comfortably as possible....it's not just an off-road toy. I scrape the brackets a bit here and there when wheeling, but have never been concerned about...
$52k is a decent deal if it's loaded, but absolutely squeeze every dollar you can out of them.....dealerships are desperate for sales. The market had take a complete 180 because of the ridiculous finance rates. I see Rubicons and Mojaves listed for under $50k all the time here locally...
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but Rubitrux sells take used complete motors:

How long have you had your lift installed? I've had mine on for almost 3 years and it does seem like it's stiffer than when I first installed it. Looking at pictures of when I first installed it to now it looks like the springs have settled maybe 1/2" or so.
Great info, thanks for taking the time to post that. I do want to "but once cry once" here as I've learned the hard way that if I don't get what I really want the first time I won't be happy with it and I'll end up buying what I want later down the road wasting money and time doing the job...
I'll post up next time I go, I'm in the DFW area so it's about a 5 hour drive for me so I don't get the chance to go out there often. There's a Facebook group for guided Meris Adventure tours that people regularly post in. If you'll shoot me your facebook info I can send you an invite to that...
I'm definitely not a fast driver off-road. I mostly do slow-going technical trails and a little rock-crawling. I do want to have shocks that handle crappy Texas roads well though...Is the reservoir version of the Fox 2.0's that much better than the non-resi version?
Well, maybe I should just do Fox 2.5's....or maybe Kings? I've heard good things about Accutune....they're pricey as hell but the last thing I want to end up with is an even more harsh ride and waste money on something I don't really want.
It's at Merus Adventure Park in Palo Duro Canyon. Definitely one of my favorite places to offroad yet.

Regarding the rake, I do want to maintain some level of rake, just not as much as factory. I know it would help with towing if I kept it the factory level of...
I'm currently running a Clayton 2.5" Overland Plus lift with Fox 2.0's and a 1/2 spacer in the front. I'd like to get a little softer ride on the road, so I've been looking at upgrading to Falcon SP2 3.3's and trying out Synergy springs, since they're known to be a little more compliant on...
Somehow I knew you'd respond telling me what a terrible approach I used :) , and that's ok. You're right, I threw parts at it. I didn't do an in depth analysis of each component I replaced. Here are the codes it had:
U0415-00
U0418
U0419
P17C1-11
B1514-87
B17BC-11
P0031-2F

I would guess the Rubicon springs but I have no data to confirm that. You can check the spring rate of both by placing the same weight on top of each spring and seeing which spring compresses more.
Personally, I am keeping mine mostly to serve as splash guards. I don't want the wiring near the wheel wells getting sprayed with water constantly when driving in rain. These things have enough electrical gremlins without worrying about water intrusion.
I just ordered these because I'm...
Just wanted to post up my adventure with this same scenario in case anyone is searching the forums for trouble shooting ideas like I was.
About a month ago my abs/traction control lights started intermittently coming on for a moment, then shutting off at random times. The lights would only...
