When the current Gladiator was first announced, I wondered why the called it Gladiator instead of Scrambler. The original Scrambler was basically a Wrangler with a bed, whereas the original Gladiator was a truck that bore no resemblance to the CJ.
I was provided a 2.0L Wrangler the last time I...
I have a stock Overland with halogen headlights and I still get flashed by people who think they are too bright. I have upgraded to better halogen bulb, but I suspect part of the issue may be the height of the Gladiator compared to most cars. It seems to happen usually when I am cresting a...
I quite paying attention to anything CR had to say about motor vehicle testing back with they declared the Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizon to be unsafe. They were one of the early low cost front wheel drive cars so CR made up a test where they would drive down the road, turn the steering wheel 90...
Stock Overland with manual transmission - averaging 23 - 24 mpg on the daily drive to work. Round trip mileage on trip from Southern Indiana to Myrtle Beach was 24.5. I drive within 5 mph of the posted speed limit most times.
Same here. It starts up in whatever mode it was in when I shut if off. I don't recall having to do anything in the set up to achieve that. What radio do you have? Mine is the 8.4 Nav, maybe there is a difference in how different units behave.
I got this from Quadratec:
Holley 223-16 Intech Cold Air Intake for 18-20 Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator JT with 3.6L | Quadratec
It was the only CAI I found that used the bolts from the original to mount to the front. All the others seem to just be supported at the ends by the throttle body...
I also found the super quiet engine a challenge with the manual transmission. I thought about an aftermarket exhaust, but was afraid it would be obnoxiously loud, and it is difficult to judge the sound levels watching on line videos. I instead installed a Holley/Intech cold air intake. This...
Seems to me Mopar accessories are hit and miss. I bought the Mopar grab handles because they were the only ones I could find designed to fit using the existing screws in the roll cage. I did not want the velcro attached options otherwise available. Same with the bug deflector - only Mopar has...
I went with the Rugged Ridge. No complaints, they installed with no issues. Wanted something to cover that ridge, as the paint is all worn away at that point on my CJ5.
My stock manual Overland runs 22 - 23 mpg driving back roads and state highways to work and back. Interstate driving runs 24 - 25 mpg. I usually keep within 5 mph of the posted speed limits.
I went with the Mopar version as I did not want to put adhesive on the hood. It does not require any drilling either, as it used fittings that insert into existing holes on the underside of the good for the screws to fasten to. I attached the bumpers to the bottom of the deflector instead of...
