10 hour drive after picking up JT

Well my last 3 vehicles have been Wranglers.....I don't know what +80 MPH is =P

My 2dr JK feels like its gonna fall apart at around 65. I don't see myself going faster than 70-75 in the JT.

well, you better figure out what 80 is cause the JT likes 80.

I've found myself up there more than once - have to be careful and it's pretty easy to go fast with it.
I went to pass a fellow, gave it gas like I would have with my other truck - found myself hitting 85 and he was back in the distance in my mirror. Oops.

Must be why the guy the other day in the new Firecracker Red Truck was going slow. I was trying to get a good look at his truck but dang he was doing like 55-60 mph on the Betlway while everyone else was doing 80-100 +. I didn't want to get knocked off so I was only able get a quick look and a wave at him but his eyes were glued to the road

All I got to say is good luck keeping it under 70 on the interstate! Unless you have the dreading steering issue, these things love to fly. I was on Georgia 400 driving from my shop in Roswell to my home in Sandy Springs (about 10 miles) and was constantly having to slow down as I would look down and I was doing 80! That’s also on stock Rubi 33’s with a 2” Mopar lift. Best of luck!

OMG, Yes they do!!! I am coming from a 2015 Renegade, and my Gadiator has way more pick up! :D

I normally stay around 80-85 on the highway, but if I wasn't paying close attention, I could easily get up to 90 without feeling a difference.

Also... I have confirmed that they will not go above 97

So, I will be getting my JT from TriCity in NC...which for me will be a 10hr drive home.

I know modern vehicles do not need the old-school breakin measures but was curious if I need to be extra careful.

Will mostly be interstate driving....75-80mph ok? Or should I plan on a relaxing slower ride pissing off people in the slow lane?

I had a similar situation and kept to the factory recommended break in on the highway. Fortunately I was in eastern Montana and NE Wyoming, not a lot of traffic. I would always wonder what damage I did if I took off at 70-80 right from the start.

I had no issues with other drivers but I made a point of getting out of their way. It's kind of relaxing slowing down and you will get better mileage.

Frankly, with todays engineering and manufacturing practices, the best engine break in is the one that reflects your normal driving habits.

Well if you're going to spend any time on I-95, you're probably well aware that you'll get all kinds of driving situations. Wide open 80+, nose drive brake-stands, lane changes that will compare to skid-pad grip tests. I wish you safe travels!

Here in VA, I try not to go over 80 mph because of the signs saying that anything over 80 gets you a reckless driving ticket. I generally go about 8 mph over speed limit. My JTR does well as 83 mph in KS and CO, but it's eating so much gas that I'm probably getting to the destination more slowly due to increased pit stops.

I've heard the police have a saying: "Eight, you're great; nine, you're mine". I generally use seven over, max. But not in my 496 though . . .
