I was intrigued by this story about a one of a kind Jeep prototype from the year I was born. In reading through the story I was frustrated by the shocking lack of pictures of the subject vehicle except for the one pic of the family proudly blocking the only view of this mystery Jeep.
Luckily, there is a video of the local news story that has plenty of footage of the Jeep.
In case you don't feel like watching the video, I took some screen shots as well.
Enjoy!

Cool story. Wonder how he got it titled and what it is listed on the title without having a MSO/MCO birth certificate?

Good question. Only thing they mentioned related to that is the grandfather (original owner) set the VIN to be his SSN. Not something you'd want to do these days, but I guess Identity Theft is not a big concern since he's now in the Great Beyond.

Really easy in some states, like Iowa, where barn finds are turned into cars, streets rods and modifieds and there hasn't been a title for decades. My neighbor is expert at getting titles for things he's dragged out of barns. The guys who found and resurrected the AMX3 would have gone trough the same processes as well.
Here you call the county, they send a guy out to look it over, you post a bond and after a certain time, you have a title. (there's other steps I can't recall but it's not too terribly bad.)
Gene has done enough of this sort of thing that the DMV people know him, drive out to his shop have a chat and some coffee, do a quick look over and drive off.

In looking over the pics, the only difference I see in this concept vs. the J10 and J20, is that this was an extended cab version. I'm not sure if that had any impact on the bed length though.

It's difficult to tell from the pictures.
I've got a '71 J4000 (forerunner to the J20) and the box doesn't look any shorter.

There are several crew cab, late 1960's Jeep J3000's pickups that were built by some coach builder for the railroad. They sat in the back lot of the train yard in Galesburg, IL under a huge carport thing for probably 25 years. They were there my entire childhood.
