Although I did not experience any issues with the OEM front shaft drive while driving over the road, I thought I may experience trouble off road given the extra travel the Mojave now has. While underneath the front let's discuss protecting the control arm connections. In the past, the control arms have made contact. Since the Core 4x4 control arms feature grease fittings, I felt it may be best to protect so I purchased Rock Hard 4x4™ Bolt-On Front Lower Control Arm Skid Plates for Gladiator JT P/N RH-90513. It was an easy install, the side hooks onto an existing flange, remove the control arm bolt and slide into place, reinstall bolt and tighten.
As for the gears, I replaced the OEM 4.10 with Revolution 5.13. In my area, Keystone 4x4 in Leesport, PA has a great reputation and fair pricing. While I enjoy doing my own work, I have always been hesitant to gear changes. Along with the gear installation, they also performed a 4-wheel alignment. After the 500 miles break in, while draining the axle lube, I replaced the differential covers with Dana 44 AdvanTEK's. Dana Model# DAN10044799 for the front Dana Model# DAN10040651 for the rear
The covers are painted a hammer coat grey, but I chose to repaint them black to match the rest of the axles.
The OEM gaskets are reuseable, so I opted to not use the gasket maker material included.
I chose to use conventional oil in the axles and the reason for this decision is that both Dana and Revolution recommended using conventional oil.
Here are the pictures as it sits today. The latest add on has been customer decals by @pixeldecals. Along the bed, my Instagram handle which is written in the same font and color as Mojave. At the front, a QR code to my photography website in the form of our flag matching the Mojave Orange.
