Except for the fact he's way off on the 3.6 - I mean, seriously, talking about the debris getting into the oil and trashing the rest of the engine? That turned me off right there. lifters? There aren't any. He could at least say "rockers" and be close.
A lot of hyperbole in there. And no, the "debris" doesn't circulate to the other parts and trash the engine.
There is not enough hours in the day to pick the fly shit out of the pepper for every misspoken quip from a guy that probably deals with hundred of different vehicle types.

The terms are nit-picky, yes, but anyone should know about the debris in oil bit.
He can call the followers 'widgets', as long as he gets the correct parts - but some of the other things, that's not mis-speaking, it's just wrong.
As an independent, he's also seeing the worst of the worst - high mileage vehicles, out of warranty, older and so on. Of course he's going to see a lot - they haven't changed that upgrade engine in anything other than bolt-on stuff since 2015 so its fully 10 years old.
I say that because people will say - yeah, but there's a lot more LS engines out there.
Sure - but look at all of the changes to the LS, how many variants there are, over the years.
These really haven't been changed at all except maybe for minor things - valve cover mod to help resolve right bank oil leak (TSB on that one), things like that.

So it really needs to be taken into context - like you said - he runs a shop, things come to him broken. That's no indication of the world outside of his doors. No one brings in a perfectly good engine to him and says "it's running perfect - take note!"
He basically says he sees two things - and for that, it's the worst engine out there. Really?

Just a side thought - it used to be that the certification tests also tested for terminology, among other things.
Some of the crap I see posted by "mechanics" or "technicians" makes me wonder how low a score you can have to still pass that thing.
Years ago, I aced such tests, but then, that was YEARS AGO.
OK, DECADES AGO, fine.
