I am starting to think the right answer to this is an 8 year 100k extended warranty on the engine and transmission.
I have never historically bought extended warranties, but I did on my Gladiator. I've yet to use it, so I'll see how things go with this repair but I'm thinking vehicle warranties for anything these days may be smart money. Modern Vehicles are complicated and GOOD technicians are in short supply.

If you buy the warranty it will never break down 😂 Murphys law

We'll see how it goes, but my last 3.6 had 285,00 miles on it when I traded it in in a 18 Grand Cherokee.

It got whatever the dealer put in it every 10k. Literally no other service ever. Replaced brakes and tires every few years.

My 23 Gladiator is at 11,000 miles, has had 1 oil change, and get's whatever the dealer puts in it.
