Check the sway bar to frame bushings. They get loose and the sway bar will slide side to side and clunk sometimes. If you can grab the sway bar and slide it by hand at all the bushings are bad.

Hi, they are fine. I did check those. Dealer is stating that the clunking sound is fine when it is not. I told them to check the track bar & ball joints. They are pinning it to the crossmember making the clunk.... I did tell them to tighten it up. At this point they really don't want to do their job and just visually look at the suspension parts without testing anything.

I have the clunk & vibration in the steering wheel at highway speeds. It is coming down to the track bar or ball joints. Hopefully @JeepCares can really push them to actally diagnose and look at the vehicle. Really upset with the service at the dealer. They never want to pick up the phone and just brush you off saying the sound is normal. I've had a wrangler in the past and know a number of people that have gladiators & wranglers with no clunking sound. I have no idea why no one can figure this out. It's been at the dealer & mechanics a number of times. We will see.

Thanks for the input!

No problem. Its the only thing I haven't seen listed as checked in the thread and I've seen them fool many people over the years so I thought id mention it. I work at a independent shop that does a good amount and alignment and suspension type stuff. Good luck with it. The squeaky wheel gets the grease just keep complaining.

Hey guys, I'm ready to call it quits on chasing this issue. It has always been a year with the same problems and the dealer or anyone cannot figure it out. I tried chatgpt and AI is nailing it down to the track bar either being worn or the frame side bolt ovalized or rounded. The dealer isn't even able to balance my tires and they are telling me to take it to the tire shop that I bought the tires from originally.

To narrow down my symtpoms, it is a metal on metal clunking sound coming from the front passenger side when coming up on a driveway at an angle, reversing at an angle from a driveway, on right turns, and always on uneven pavement. I also have history of death wobble where a steering stab. was put in place to "cure" the problem. I have vibration in my steering wheel at highway speeds also.

The dealer is saying tha everything in the front suspension is up to spec and fine. I told them to test everything under load and I am not sure if they are even going to do that. I am waiting on @JeepCares to get in touch with them to see if they can even do anything. Tie rods, steering stab., & drag link have been changed throughout the course and the clunk is still there.

The dealer is only saying that the clunk is coming from the crossmember area by the fuel tank and that is normal for this vehicle and there is no fix at all.......... I don't want to believe that there is no fix for this because I have a wrangler myself and a lot of buddies with the same vehicle and no one has a clunk.

If anyone can give an insight or a fix to this, I will greatly appreciae it. I've owned the vehicle for about a year now and cannot really enjoy it. I love the truck but ..... I can't deal with the clunk.

I had a clunk I couldn't find either, until I randomly did. My passenger side shock tower broke where the bung is the bolt goes into. Welded it back together and has been good since. Probably a stretch, but since the world at large thinks your clunk is an imaginary friend, might be something else entirely like mine was. Good luck to ya!
