New member here, looking to purchase a 23 with the discounts they have. One that I'm interested in is a High Altitude diesel. Price is great but I'm confused. According to the window sticker, it has Dana 44s. According to the options list for that year, it should have M210/M220 axles which I believe are the max tow axles. What does it have?

It has Dana 44s which are under all Gladiators and they are the M210 and M220.
Nothing to do with max tow.
Those are the axle models (44 is the series designation) and the M210 and 220 are the ring gear size as I recall.
Max tow axles aren't special - just wider by a total of 1.5" than what non-Max Tow Sports, and Overland have. They aren't heavier duty.
I believe the High Altitude also has the slightly wider axles, otherwise it was based on the Overland with higher-end trim, and wider axles.

Look at the build sheets and you'll see those generic numbers for all Gladiators.

Thanks. I probably won't go with it because it doesn't have the cold weather group, tow package or LSD.

Those are three MUST HAVEs for me - limited slip, cold weather package, tow package.
If something doesn't have those, I move on.
It's a shame because some otherwise fantastic Jeeps are out there. But around here, those are a must for me and my use (I tow, it gets cold and snowy)

Agreed. It's listed for around 45k, but missing too many things. The reason ( asked was because if it had axles for max towing, I could add the hitch myself. Looks like no reason to buy it.

All High Altitudes have the max tow width axles, but not the max tow 4.10 gears. None of the diesels have 4.10, the gas High Altitude models do not have 4.10 either.

Missing the cold weather package would be the deal breaker for me.

Yeah - what he said.........

Main difference drive-train-wise between Overland and High Altitude is the axle width.
Otherwise it's pretty much trim and wheels (mostly)
