I just ordered a 2024 Mojave and although the $725 Black Tubular Side Steps by Mopar are available on the Mojave build site, the salesman could not add it to the build. I was told that it would have to be dealer installed with a $200 labor add. Is this true? Thank you for any guidance.

There are way better step options out there and anything that mounts like those do takes less than 15 mins to install with a wrench

If you really want those side steps for $725, you can find them all day long on FB marketplace for $25. As a matter of fact most of them are free because no one wants them. I would order with the standard rock rails and buy something aftermarket.

There are far better options…that are cheaper & practically bolt on.

I suppose it’s possible the steps are on constraint and are currently not orderable.
Be aware that while it’s a matter of bolting them on if you were to buy some off Craigslist, etc the first body bolt is red loctited on. There’s lots of stories of folks struggling/breaking bolts trying to remove this bolt. Not necessarily a 15 minute job. Personally, I’d have the dealer put them on and if they want the deal they’d install for nothing.

As for there being better options, I suppose depending on what you’re looking for. To me the Mojave isn’t a rock crawler, therefore I didn’t need rock slider type protection. I bought them to 1. Protect the sides of the Jeep from rock throws and 2. To give me and the wife something to step on to help get in. The Mojave is pretty tall. For those 2 things the factory works great for us.

…don’t forget… protection from jackasses who park beside you and open their doors. I’d much rather see damage on their door than the side of my JT.😉

I don’t believe you remove any body bolts to install the factory steps.
