This is the problem I've always had with build threads. Hate all the extra clutter.
As the originator of a thread, especially build journals, one should have the power to delete and/or approve post to said thread.

In an effort to get this build journal back on track, I did 2 quick and easy mods today.

1. Hood Stuts. These are specific to the Mojave due to the heavier hood. Red Line Hood Struts

Started the de-badge project.

I FINALLY had the chance to install the Infinity Reference speakers in the dash. WOW! Night and day difference. I had to turn down the highs because they were just too bright with where I had it set for the stock speakers. The only downside is that the deficiencies of the soundboard are now even more evident. So, new soundboard speakers and polyfill are on the way! ?
The install wad straight forward and simple.

Sound bar speaker upgrade!

The 2024s are different from previous years.

This is what I used.

Once the speakers were removed, I installed the 4" coaxial speaker using a Metra plug and play adapter.

I needed to remove one mounting tab, and shorten another one to allow the speaker to fit. None of the holes lined up so I used 3 self-tapping screws.

The adapter looked like it had a polarity issue to me. After testing and checking, the polarity is correct.

The little dome tweeter was a bit more difficult. The tweeter came with a variety of mounting brackets. I used the one pictured below, modifying into a simple flush mount. Then I used a hole saw to make a hole in the mounting adapter, supplied by Crutchfield, to mount the flush mount bracket to. I used glue to secure it.

Then it was just a matter of wiring up the Metra adapter and stuffing all the wiring and crossover behind the mounting adapter.

Coupled with the new speakers in the dash, it sounds great!

Added USB power to the top of the dash for the Bullet Point phone holder/charger.

The idea was to use the Quadratec 12V Power adapter to tap power from the 12v outlet on the driver's side dash.

I removed the top dash trim to locate a place I could fit the USB socket.

Since there was no space for that to fit, I had to make space with a Dremel.

Next it was time to remove parts of the dash. I started with the control cluster. The far right side (passenger side) of that dash piece requires fairly extensive dash disassembly, so I left it attached there, and just pulled it off starting on the left side.

***Important: On the 2024 there are 3 screws hidden behind an access panel on the underside of the passenger grab bar. These have to be removed. *Pro Tip: Opening the glove box gives you more room to get a screwdriver in there.

There is a plug on the back of that panel that is easy to remove so you can pull the panel out far enough to work behind it.

There is a screw at the top of the lower dash panel (the lower dash panel is where the 12v outlet is). Once that screw is removed, unplug the harness from the back of the 12v outlet and install the adapter harness.

Next I ran the adapter harness fused power leads up inside the dash to where I Dremeled a space for the USB socket. Then mounted the USB socket into the top dash trim.

Wired the socket to the adapter harness power leads, and reinstalled the top trim and ball mount.

After testing to make sure it all worked, I screwed and snapped the dash back together and mounted my phone holder / charger to the ball mount.

It was just a little bit of work to get a very clean looking install. I hate wires draped all over the dash, or anywhere for that matter. I'm very happy with the final product.
