I am trying to run a GMRS antenna into the cabin through the pass through plug next to the brake booster on the firewall but it is blocked on the inside by a thick rubber/plastic panel. When I look at the location from the inside it seems to be a complete enclosure and no opening to where the clutch would have went. Should I drill a hole through this panel or is there another possible way to route the GMRS antenna into the cabin, it is a midland cable so the end comes off so I will not need a large opening. It is just weird to me that they blocked the main pass through next to the brake booster. If anyone might have an idea of how to run the cable please let me know. Thank you in advance.

Since they no longer offer the manual transmission, there's no longer a reason to have the opening for the clutch.

You will just have to carefully drill a hole in that space and hope for the best.

You can run the cable from the hood to behind the cowl by the corner of the windshield, then in behind the foam weather strip for the door where it meets the cowl, then down between the dash trim and the door. Search the forum for GMRS and you should be able to find some pictures in a thread somewhere.

And it's annoying that Jeep didn't include a path for cables through the firewall, and also a path from below the dash to the top of the dash, and a path from the cabin to the bed area.

That's exactly how I ran it and there are a few videos on YouTube.
