I usually drive my JTR on the weekends for errands and/or hunting trips. So, for the most part it sits comfortably in my RV garage all week long. I notice that when I'm driving it on the weekends and starting it that the brake pedal depresses normally and has no issues. But, the first time I start the JTR after a few days of resting I notice that the pedal is VERY hard but still allows me to start the engine just fine. After that initial hard pedal it's fine the rest of the weekend. Anyone else experience a hard brake pedal after not driving for several days? If so, do you know why the pedal is hard after sitting for a while?

TIA.

Thank you for your response. I've owned many different vehicles and never experienced this "leaking down" before. Is this normal for Gladiators or could something possibly be wrong with the master?

I wouldn't call it normal, but given the time frame needed for it to drop I wouldn't be overly concerned either. Typically when this type of issue occurs it's due to a very small leak in the booster's check valve, which is a replaceable part.

This has been noted before in other threads. It's not common, but does happen.

I've noticed the same behavior on my '23. It's intermittent, though. Sometimes it happens after sitting overnight and sometimes not at all.

Mine seems to be consistent after about 24 to 36 hours of just sitting. I'm going to get a small hand pump and test the vacuum on my check valve before I buy one just to see if that might be the issue.
