22 Gladiator Sport replace OEM tires

Any advice to replace 245/75R17 stock tires on my Glad? Specifically I would like a bit more clearance but don’t want a lift kit etc, Just want tires a bit higher and wider but won’t rub in wheel well on turns or cause issues while towing behind my RV. Thanks!

285/70/17 is a popular upsize from the 245's. It is the same factory size as the Rubicon/Mojave models. About as big as you want to go on 3.73 sport gearing if that is what you have.

285/70/17 is a popular upsize from the 245's. It is the same factory size as the Rubicon/Mojave models. About as big as you want to go on 3.73 sport gearing if that is what you have.

This. Keep your eyes open for a set of Rubicon or Mojave takeoffs, that's what I did.

I did 265/70R17. Same diameter as the stock highway tires so same accel and towing, but wider for handling, plus LT-E for offroad, and it's a very common size so you are more likely to find a replacement in some small town if you need to.

I upgraded my Sport S from 245/75R17 to 265/70R17. I really was leaning toward the 255/75R17, but it is such a rare size and special order in most shops if I needed replacement on a road trip. The 265/70R17 is a very common OEM size with many manufacturers to choose from.

Thanks! After seeing some threads on this forum, I’m leaning towards 285/70R17 or 285/75R17s as long as they don’t rub fenderwall or cause any other problems with the HD 44 axles and 3.73 ratio
