250 mile round trip city and 2 lane highway. Average mpg was 29.8. Was running 65 to 70 mph. To me this is great. I haven’t tuned it yet.
will it get better?
As mentioned, having the aerodynamics of a brick means that higher speeds hurt mileage more than a more aerodynamic vehicle. My High Altitude came with those same tires. If I drive right with those tires I can get similar mileage. But swapping to 35" offroad tires has probably hurt my mileage a little.
The trick is to go just fast enough to let it shift into 8th, and hold it.
If you go stage2 with stock or economy tune you could probably do a bit better. Depends on what your goal is? Max mileage possible or a mix of mileage/power?
Stage 2 tow tune with 38s flat roads I see 24 or so when I stay below 70, shoot I recently did a 400 mile trip hauling a 6500lb trailer and still managed 21 at around 60-65mph
