Pentastar has those issues too.

I would bet that the number of instances of follower/cam failures has dropped dramatically since the 2020 model year.
Even now, most of those reported are 2020 models.
I won't say "it doesn't happen" with the 22 and later, just that you just aren't seeing those 10-15k mile failures in the later models. In the 2020, they were failing before 20,000 miles.

We do what we do for our family members. Tuvak, yikes, $500 for the adoption, 2500 in 2016 after he swallowed a needle, and the thyroid issues, between the blood work and vet visits and then the radioactive iodine - another 4K.
I'm starting to call him Tuvak, the 6 million dollar cat.
But thinking of all of the days and evenings he'd not be jumping on my shoulder and riding around the house, or cuddled in my arm for some TV at night.......

My "justifications" for moving away from my 2011 Silverado to the first JT - the 2020 are similar. Fits the garage better, easier to park, and my wife and I having sold our camper - for the reason she was getting away from the camping mood and more into hotels (leaves more time to go see and do things - and we live on the edge of nature anyway)

I think if they got rid of the blue for some reason, I'd be going for red for the next one.
It's a good red, like my wife says. They picked a good shade of red.

Wrangler didn't get the upgrade engine until 2018 and later so if they talk of Wranglers, be careful. the JK isn't the same valve train.

Well, after having a Rubicon JT previously and again later a Sport JT, I now have just traded for a 2024 Willys JT in Firecracker Red! The new Jeep is awesome and I hope to keep this one a long time. I traded a newer Chevrolet Silverado 1500 this last time and was very disappointed in all the troubles they are having with the lifter issues in their 5.3 and 6.2 V8's. I feel much better about the 3.6 V6 in the Gladiator and feel it is a proven engine. Hope I won't get beat up too much for not staying with the other Gladiators as I should have. Thanks for letting me sneak back in!!!

In that thread, it doesn't seem to be cam follower/lash adjuster tick. Some mistake the noisy injectors in these for follower tick.
Note that thread died with no further discussion of it being a dead cam lobe.
There's a TSB out there for tick that involves lash adjusters - the cams and followers are fine. The solution - replace the lash adjusters on that side.
Another made his engine quieter with a fuel additive - lubed and quieted the injectors.

It's out there, but for a 22 and later model year - it's uncommon. The internet brings them to the top as everything suspects any ticking sound to be cam issues.
Apparently, that one was not - at least there was nothing more made of it. It was discussed for 2 months, then nothing more. It was more of a "is this sound the engine tick talked of" thread.

Wish I could remember - want to search and find out which it was because he was pretty clear that he thought the injectors were quieter.
Mine is quiet, but it never hurts to have such information for "just in case" - sort of like one might save some spare parts or nuts and bolts.
It was within the last week that I saw it.

Thanks for the information and research. Sounds like it was a problem before and not one that affects our current, or at least my 2024 Gladiator. I believe that Bill mentioned pre 2022 and the video is saying that upgrades were done around or after 2018. I am not worried about this; however I was scared as hell with the issues the GM vehicles were having. Part of the reason I got away from the Silverado 1500 5.3 I had. I had heard before that the first Pentastar engines had problems however I thought you were talking about the current newer engines. Anyway, thanks again for your research!!!
