I want to start this by saying I was sent these 3W liners to try at no cost to me. There was a giveaway post...I was lucky enough to be first. They asked if I would be willing to do a review/comparison post as I have Weathertech liners in it.
For a back story, I have run Husky liners or Weathertechs in every "nice" vehicle we have had in the past 20 years. I would say of the two I have leaned more toward the Husky, while my wife generally has preferred the Weathertechs. My wife works at a shop that sells truck accessories, so I do get to see several different options.
I have had these weathertech liners in the Gladiator for probably 18k of the 19.5k miles that are on the clock. I picked them up very lightly used off marketplace. The guy just didnt keep his Gladiator very long and was unloading the extras. I think I gave $50 for them.
Moving on to the 3W liners....my initial thoughts when I got them was the packaging looked really good. The box arrived damage free.
I also got a kick out of the fun project that was added to the cardboard box. Had my daughter been a bit younger, im sure she would have also liked it. However, she is 14 years old and cannot be bothered with such things.
These liners do feel a bit softer and slightly smoother texture...more rubber feeling than the Weathertechs. The Weathertech have a more plastic feel to them.
I will admit right off that I am not a big fan of the tire tread print design. Nothing wrong with it...just not my taste. I just prefer the more simple look of the Weathertechs.
I also do not like the two things that stick up toward the rear where the push locks are. I think they look a bit ugly there, and even though I don't think it would move around, I would rather see another lock or even just something smaller.
Speaking of the locks...they are difficult to engage them on the floor pins. It just took a few more little pops to get it in there though.
I like that the rear mat covers a little further under the front seats. It probably doesn't make much difference for my truck as my seats are always back. The liner sat down on the floor really well. I have no complaints about that.
The front set I noticed that the 3Ws do not go up as high as the Weathertechs. Im not sure how much difference that makes, but it is noticeable. I would guess 1.5" on the Trans tunnel side and maybe 1" on the door side. In the pics I have the Weathertech marked with masking tape on the carpet, followed by the 3W to show the difference.
One thing I do like better with the 3W liners is the smooth texture. I think it would be easier to brush or spray this liner clean over the rough texture of the weathertechs.
We did get a little snow here over the last few days. The 3W liners caught that water really well. I didnt actually measure the two, but the tread pattern of the 3W is a good bit deeper than weathertech.
I think it's a close match between the two honestly. There really isnt anything wrong with either one. I feel like some of my cons are really more nitpicking than a real negative.
Retail price...3W
Rear mat coverage...3W
Front mat coverage...Weathertech
Water containment...3W
Appearance...Weathertech
