3way switch for Oracle Bedlights??

Any electricians out there?
Maybe I am missing a setting somewhere, but I really wish the bedlights could be turned on/off even when the truck is powered off...

What I would really like to do would be to install the Oracle LED Bedlights, and connect them to one of the auxiliary switches in the cab, but also have a switch in the bed. These would be connected directly to the battery as a 3-way, so I could turn on/off the lights at anytime (even when the truck is off) from either inside the cab, or out by the bed...

Is this possible? Anyone else try something like this?

Try turning the dash brightness adjust wheel past the click, where it turns the interior lights on, and see if it also turns on the bed lights, when the truck is off. I read that in another thread, but have not tried it yet.

They originally planned to have a switch in the back, like the RAM trucks, but it never happened.

The Oracle bed lights come with a switch to turn them on in the bed. But that assumes they are wired to a feed that is hot all the time.

Yes, that will keep them on all the time.

You can buy the identical kit on e-bay for 15 bucks or so. There's tons of sellers.

Hello! The power cable for the bed-lights should be connected directly to the battery. Essentially, the AUX switch in the cab is directing power from the battery before the switch at the bed. Therefore, the switch in the bed would not work unless the switch in the cab was turned on. Which would defeat the purpose.

I could never see the need for a switch at the bed seeing how the cab switch is just a couple steps away. It's extra wiring and another switch that may eventually fail. I tied my LED's to the existing bed lamps so they go on and off together.

Which wires did you use in the bed did you use? Did you tie into each bed side light for each strip? Oracle black and red posi-tapped into which bed light wires? Also, where did you run the oracle wire to hide it inside the bed wall? Thanks in advance.

I just used the 2 wires going to the existing lights. I also never use taps, always solder and heat shrink. I ran the wires through an existing hole.

I also didn't use the Oracle kit. The e bay linked lights are identical in every way. Same kit as far as I can tell. Pictures and item description are exactly the same
