Bedlights - how are the factory ones wired?

I want to wire them in special. So that when the factory dome/bed lights are turned on, they light up.
DOES ANYBODY KNOW THE AMPERAGE RATING FOR THE WIRES FOR THE DOME/BED LIGHT CIRCUIT?

I also plan to add a second power wire, from a totally separate battery and switch, so that when camping, I can turn on the lights as necessary utilizing my 'house' battery and not using the main vehicle battery.
WILL I NEED TO INSTALL A ONE WAY DIODE INTO THE FACTORY WIRING SO THAT ELECTRICAL FEEDS DON'T BACK FEED INTO THE REST OF THE COMPUTER SYSTEM? EXAMPLE, USING THE HOUSE BATTERY TO TURN ON LIGHTS, WITHOUT A DIODE, WOULD IT INADVERTENTLY TURN ON THE DOME LIGHTS, AND PUSH VOLTAGE INTO THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE)?

Diodes yes. I used diodes when wiring my bumper back up lights to come on both when in reverse, or using one of my aux switches. Don't back-feed power into the system, the BCM may freak out.
The wiring is going to be light as those bed lights from the factory don't pull squat for amperage.

would you share a link to the diodes you used? I also want to do the same for reverse lights as you indicated and have the LED package. Diodes is one thing with electrical theory I never fully nailed down
