Was able to get a good price on a pair of OEM LED taillights on offer up and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with that swap, is it something simple or will it require me to go to the dealer?

The physical swap should be easy. You will need a Jscan setup to update the computer so it knows they are now LED. That needs to be done before trying to use the lights. Talk to your dealer and see how much they will charge you to do it. There should be some threads in the Programming section on getting setup with Jscan so you don't need to pay the dealer.

From what I have seen the connector is the same on both LED and Halogen. For proper operation you will need to change the pc setting to LED. This can be done by dealer or with a programmer. I use Tazer.

Easy swap. Tazer or Jscan or dealership to tell the computer that it now has LEDs.

These have the fault sense wires on LED trucks same as the DRLs. DRLs set codes unless diagnostics are set to off. They'll be off if your truck came with halogens - don't turn those settings on.

It's a crap shoot. If you search the forum a lot of people have swapped with no issues. Others have swapped and a jscan or tazer fixed the issue and others it's been a nightmare. Same with the LED bulbs. My son swapped out his halogen bulbs for LED. The headlight swap worked great. The fog light swap didn't work and now the fog lights won't work with his old halogen bulbs.

Good Luck
