I just got back from a road trip from CO to RI and back. A little over 4,000 miles and I averaged 17.4 mpg using 87 octane fuel in my '21 Mojave with 35"x12.50"x17" Falken Wildpeaks and stock 4.10 gears. I also have the AEV 2" spacer lift, Rock Hard aluminum bumpers, warn winch, Sherpa roof rack with four Max Trax mounted on it, JCR bed rack and basket and I was carrying two people, luggage and other stuff, so about 1,000 lbs of people and cargo. The Jeep ran great the whole trip and the last day of the trip driving across MO, KS and CO in the rain, fog, ice, snow and 60+ miles of total white out conditions from Lamar to Rocky Ford I was very happy I was in a Jeep with the Auto 4WD or Select Trac NP242 transfer case.

Nice trip. You drive across I70? I've driven from Pittsburgh to Denver and back at least twice a year. I70 can be nasty at times.

On the way out I drove I70 to Topeka and then went north and across to Hannibal, MO. Picked up I70 again in Indianapolis. From Gettysburg I took I81 to I84 to avoid NJ and NYC. On the way back I drove out I80 across PA, got caught in a little lake effect snow around Pittsburgh and then picked up I70 again in Columbus. We drove to the south side of St. Louis and went across southern MO and KS to try an avoid the storm along both the I70 and I80 corridors and it worked mostly. I usually make the trip in the summer, but my daughter had never spent Christmas in New England with family so I made that happen 😀
