Have a 2020 Gladiator Rubicon with a 2" lift running 37s on stock rims. Getting a 2nd set of tires/rims for off roading. Should I stay around the 37/38" range or max out with 40"s? If I go with 40s are there any other suspension/driveline upgrades that should be made?

From what I've learned on here is that 40's almost require you to go with 1-tons, or at a minimum, alot of extra bracing on the 44's. Axle shafts are highly recommend on anything bigger than 37's, too. I'm sure there's alot more opinions out there, but those were the first things that came to my mind.

If you are planning to use the 40s for off-road then yes you basically have to replace most things. Axles, drive shafts, gears and more. Don't get me wrong it will definitely work but most likely not for very long if u are actually wheeling it. If your just driving on some dirt trails u may be ok.

To be on the safe side. 40's need 60's. The 44 will live with mild offroading. Get into the rough stuff. That will be a different story.

I just changed my 37’s for new ones. I wanted to go up in size but I didn’t.

I didn’t want to change out my axles, wheels due to bolt pattern and rear driveshaft for 40’s.
Also, I wanted a a/t vs a m/t because how much I drive now for work. 4-6 months of snow too.

I do have a trussed front axle to support my 37’s!

3.5" lift for 37's , I was told if I went to 40's , you should go 4.5" lift which is a whole new ball game when it comes to the correct angles. Custom driveshaft ... Dana 60's (geometry)

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to respond/comment. For now, you've convinced me to stay with 37s until I win the lottery.
