All the 23 JLs I've been shopping also are on stop sales for a safety recall. The NHTSA recall site shows for a faulty gauges with no fix available yet. I should clear my statement, only new unsold 23s are affected by the stop sale, used ones can still be sold.
So they can't sell new ones that have a fire hazard for which there isn't yet a fix, but can sell used ones with the same exact risk, for which there isn't yet a fix.
New or used, the risk is exactly the same - maybe it's the risk to Jeep that's the difference!!

Jeep’s products liability risk is the same but their control is likely very different. I suspect Jeep can prohibit the introduction of the vehicle into the stream of commerce but can’t prohibit the resale of a vehicle already in the stream. The dealers on the other hand are potentially increasing their liabilities by selling a vehicle that has a stop sale from the manufacturer. I know Hendrick refused to sell even used LX’s when there was a stop sale on the new ones.

That makes a lot of sense.

Such a shame. I was excited for 41. Theyre definitely just taking 24 models and slapping "2025" stickers on them just to get rid of stock
back in the old days they did that, dealer could change it to the new model year on the title, can be a challenge at the DMV now to get a serial number and a model year to match the title year.

So, High Velocity is gone too?
Unless things have changed in the last few hours, what I posted earlier are the ONLY 6 colors on that screen.
That does NOT mean that a dealer can't order others because that cosumer site really sucks and even my sales guy said "yeah, don't go by that, if you want to know, call me and I'll look in our system".

So, in short, call your favorite sales person (or least favorite, whatever)

From what I've seen it's not a fire hazard just some lightning issues with the dashboard, you might be looking at a different recall but the only one on the NHTSA recall site is for the dash. Used vehicles aren't just sold by dealers so that would be hard to enforce with pvt sellers.

There was one notice earlier that said the cluster had a short and could cause a fire. Apparently that's been changed. I need to see if I can find the one I originally found.

The documents all now say the short can cause the cluster to go dark, etc.

The build and price is such a generic build info site. It is NOT a comprehensive option list of what you can and cannot order. I base my builds / RPO codes based on what I sat down with my salesman in 2020 and see what's truly available. For example, M9C which is the retro JT stripe package is and has never been shown in the build and price jeep website. Nor was the black vs color matched fender flares for a Sport S. The website said you get color matching flares when ordering a sport S max tow, but my dealer said I could choose the black flares if I wanted.
If you really want to custom build a JT, set down with your dealer and go over every RPO code that they show on the order sheet.

Maybe it did change, the recall I saw said the safety concerns were drivers taking their eyes off the road to look at the gauges and could possibly lose control and crash. I thought that they were going a little extreme on the "safety " part, but as a retired CHP officer I could see their point. If indeed it's a fire hazard then that would make sense. I'm currently waiting for the fix so I can purchase the 23 Wrangler sooner than later. To update my previous comment, there's a federal law that prevents new ones being sold, it can however be sold used, but if a dealer knowingly sells a safety recall vehicle it can be hit with massive fines.

Maybe this will help. Manufacturers recall number is 30B, the NHTSA Recall number is 24V-652.

If I recall, if the cluster goes dark, it's a violation of federal law - Interesting as there's still a working speedometer (analog) on the far right. i might look up the law to see just what it says has to be displayed, especially since recently Iowa has passed a law saying side-by-sides, and other ATVs are legal to operate on Iowa highways. That's a real problem around here because their lighting sucks, many can't keep up a decent speed, and you know they won't handle well in an emergency or accident. But, certain lobbies won.

New ones are still being sold. Recall involves "some" 2018-2024 Gladiators. And it's only those with the 3.5" instrument panel cluster.

Tell me about it, back in the 80s, most my cars had crap for gauge lighting and it was never an issue for me. As for the missing colors, I remember someone online saying a couple of them would not be available till later in the year.

But takes the sale person word with a grain of salt and shot of cactus sauce. I took the word on my original JTM order in Gecko and see how that panned out. Instead of a '22 JTM in Gecko I ended up with a '23 JTM in HVY.
