I am trying to decide whether to trade for a Willy's 41 edition or not. Currently have a 22 base Rubicon and a 22 4xe Rubicon and would have to trade both. I really like the looks of the 41 and it is pretty loaded. Only concerns are lockers, axles and gear ratio. Looking for Opinons.

What year Willy's? New one's have a rear locker. How much do you use your locker? What options do you need that can't be installed?

Do you want or need to have two vehicles instead of one?
Have you considered the positive and negative impacts of having one vs two vehicles?
Do you feel that the Willys is really worth trading two vehicles for?
Are there any known issues or concerns with either of the two vehicles you have that would justify trading them off?

I was thinking the same thing. To trade in two vehicles for one means either 1) you don't need a second vehicle or 2) you really gotta have this new vehicle.

OP, only you can answer that first question. For the second, I know it looks cool (we seriously considered a '41 edition Wrangler last year), but for the Gladiator, the only unique aspects of the vehicle (as compared to other Gladiators) are the unique wheels and tan cloth seats. I'm not counting decals. For stuff like the front steal bumper with the hoops, you can order that. The Mojave hood also comes on the Dark Sky. Etc.

You have to ask yourself how much these accessories mean to you...

I do not need two vehicles. The 4xe is my daily driver as I can usually get back and forth in electric mode. The Gladiator is the one I enjoy driving the most and that is usually on trips or weekends. I really do not want to get a high rate or increased note. The Willy's 41 is only a 26 model at this point. I understand that the Wrangler version has the heavier axles, but the gladiator does not. It is kind of a lust thing right now.

All Gladiators have the heavier axles

Depends. Only reason I’d trade the Rubi in would be because you now know exactly what you want to do to the Jeep and want to start again with a blank canvas. Right at this moment I would not want a new car payment if I didn’t already have one.

The '41 edition Willy's Gladiator is beautiful. i almost ordered one.
Pros: It was going to have Front and Rear steel bumpers,Tripple Hoop Grill Guard, Rock Rails. Mojava hood with awesome decals. Based on Willy's so it has Rear Lockers, Off-Road Plus along side LED package, Safety Group and Tow Package as standard. Baeautiful tan seats and those wheels are awesome.

Cons: The only draw back for me was that it did not have the black grill standard, No Tan top which was a big big miss by Jeep IMHO. Bigger item is i feel it should of had 4:10 gears(Like wrangler version) even if its not the wide axels and the payload was very low (870lbs) compared to my 2024 max tow (1751 lbs).

For me this has been the best drop so far this year for Gladiators with the rockslide a close 2nd. Overall its a rugged beautifull truck and its off-road ready day one. I would prob have put the dual sport 2.5 - 3 inch AEV high capacity lift kit to fix that payload issue and regeared to 4:56. If your heart is telling you to get it then get it my friend !! I see some of them have really good deals on them now. Good luck

Do you need the off-road features and capabilities of the Rubicon? Because if you don’t the high end ā€˜26 models have a lot of great upgrades in the comfort and technology front to justify the trade up. While I traded my ā€˜22 Overland for a ā€˜26 Mojave X for its off-road capabilities in the desert where I live and spend all my time, I REALLY appreciate the wireless CarPlay, enhanced cruise control and the bigger screen with much better electronics etc. of the new truck. And the ride on the new shocks is also night and day in the desert but also on the highway.

I wouldn't trade 2 vehicles for Willy's
I hear you however we are not sure of the person's situation. The stragedy is not bad and prob will come out even with very little payments.

I have a 2023 Willys and the only con is the low payload 900 lbs but the 41 is even lower. It hasnt been a problem for me. I only load it up with a face cord of fire wood a couple of times a year and hardly nioticed it.
Only about an inch of squat.
If you are making an overland rig a Rubicon or Max may suite you better.

I agree!! The willy's is design that way to be lighter on its feet with really good off-road chops. It one of the few trims that the factory 3.73 gears feel really good in. For the payload the good thing is you can fix that easy atleast with many of the coil kits on the market like clayton, AEV,Terraflex outback etc. The post 2024 Willy's trim did recieve that rear locker with off-road plus is great set up. I personally wish they would give it the 4:10 gears even if not in the wide track version.

The max tow sport or sport s and the willy's are the best trims IMHO because you have a better blank slate to work with.

I would trade the 4XE before it spontaneously combusts, but that’s just me. If your Rubicon is basically stock and you don’t use all the offroad options, and you don’t plan on doing a bunch of upgrades on a new one, the 41 Willys would be super cool.
