Very confusing part #'s to order a 8.4" replacement radio. I have found: 68417866AG, 68417863AG, both say compatible with gladiator, both say nav, one is $1100, one is $1034. Then there are a bunch similar to 68417867AH, all with AH at the end. The JL guys use 68417866AG, not sure if it's compatible with gladiator. I want to make sure nav/gps is included. Nismopar on ebay doesn't give a part # and his is $1500. Anybody know which is which? thx

I recently installed this 8.4 w/NAV model from Infotainment. Plug and play and works perfectly after about a 10 hour software load period.

Can you explain the "10 hour software load period"? Is that something you had to do or had to take to the dealership? I'm confused as to whether you can buy a radio from either an individual or a store and just drop it in and it works or if you have to get some sort of programming done on it from the dealership.

Infotainment preloads the VIN so not necessary to have dealership flash the system as I understand it. Infotainment said the download was updating all the software. It may take longer or shorter period as required. I basically installed the radio and went to bed. All was done when I got up. The only thing I do not have is the expanded off road pages. Taser or doogle from infotainment can add that feature for additional fee of course. I am not an internet engineer so not qualified to get technical. Infotainment has an excellent and very patient help line.

This website shows 7 different part numbers for the 8.4 inch radio. and thats not counting the discontinued models. anyone have any insight into if there is a difference in them, or do they all have same features? prices are best ive found, just dont know what one to get because they range in price.
You want 68417861Ax for US market (UAQ sales code), or 68417862Ax for Canadian market (UCQ sales code). All the other ones are for different countries, and won’t work in North America (navigation and SXM, etc).

A note on buying a used one- there is absolutely no VIN programming, or anything like that that needs to be done to the radio. It will be plug n play. Infotainment doesn’t do anything other that buy them from junkyards and make sure they work. They tell you that they program them to your VIN to make you feel like they are necessary so you buy their overpriced radio upgrades.
