But if you pull the lever over and say in 3rd and its too steep and you stay in the throttle it won't downshift until ypu come out of that throttle and slow down or hit the brake.Yes. Rams buttons on the steering wheel are a lockout mechanism and not a manual shift mode. Moving the lever over on these Jeeps makes it manual mode and isn’t for lockout reasons
When it the auto side if your cruising in 6th and need extra slow down without dropping the hammer let off the fuel touch the brake and it will downshift at which point you can gentle go back on the fuel without going redline.
If your towing and hitting redline , just feather the throttle it will shift up . Or hit a pothole that will do it too.
